Re: The Ultimate Battle Free Pinball Thread
Anyone try Zaccaria Pinball? Free on PSN.
I'm enjoying it, so far. |
Re: The Ultimate Battle Free Pinball Thread
I've been playing it on the PC for a couple years now. Since Zaccaria's heyday was in the mid 70's to the 80's, a lot of their tables are pretty simple, and of course designed to easily drain balls. So IMO not every table is a hit. The developers of the game have done modern remakes of most of the tables, and those tend to be designed to allow for longer play sessions.

Thanks for the input though 👍 I'd say it's good value for the money. There are 37 original tables plus around 10 more you can unlock. 27 modern remakes, 27 "retro" tables, and now they're working on deluxe tables. So all in there are 100+ tables. And most of the tables have multiple game modes: Simulator is essentially how the table released, Arcade has more forgiving nudges, and Custom mode where you can modify the table characteristics; 3-ball, 5-ball, a 90 second mode, target mode (hit as many targets you can with one ball), and challenge modes where you have to perform a certain action within a time limit. And all the game modes on all the tables have their own leaderboards, so there's a crapton of them. If you're an achievement hunter the Steam version is a dream as there are currently 4,700 achievements. |
Re: The Ultimate Battle Free Pinball Thread
For those of you on the Xbox, I have spent the last many months playing all 99(!) tables on Pinball FX3 and have beaten all the challenges and beaten all the scores of anyone who is a friend with me on here.
I am not bragging but just looking for a new challenge on it. I figured many may still play from time to time on it or have a favorite table. So if you are a friend of mine on the Xbox (or want to become one) and beat one of my scores, post here or either send me a PM when you beat one. I didn't try to get crazy high scores on everything. I just tried to beat the highest score that was currently on there that I was friends with. :) |
Re: The Ultimate Battle Free Pinball Thread
Speaking of Pinball FX3, the next iteration of the series, simply called Pinball FX, is planned for a summer 2022 launch.
They have a small FAQ up at https://www.pinballfx.com/?page_id=7115. |

They have a small FAQ up at https://www.pinballfx.com/?page_id=7115. Do I need to rebuy my tables in Pinball FX? We know a lot of our players invested into previous pinball platforms, and some tables you may have been playing since 2007. We are working on several ways to make it easier and more economical to access legacy tables in Pinball FX. We’ll have more information on this soon. I own like 93/99 tables. I don't want to have to buy them all again, even at a dollar each that's a fortune. |
Re: The Ultimate Battle Free Pinball Thread
Not sure how many of you have a Quest 2 VR headset... but Pinball FX on that system is fantastic.

Re: The Ultimate Battle Free Pinball Thread
So it looks like Zen wants to use a subscription service for their new game. Awesome -rolleyes-
We have confirmed Indiana Jones: The Pinball Adventure, Pinball Noir, Curse of the Mummy, Sky Pirates: Treasures of the Clouds, Biolab, Rome, Pasha, Secrets of the Deep, The Mandalorian, Classic Collectibles. We will confirm the final table roster in the February Pinball Show. How can I buy tables in Pinball FX? Pinball FX will introduce an in-game store, where you will be able to buy tables and other items conveniently, without the need to navigate first-party store pages. We are also saying goodbye to packs – you will be able to purchase tables individually to pick and choose what you like. What is the Pinball Pass? Pinball FX features a huge amount of content, and the library will be growing at a steady rate, so the Pinball Pass provides an option for the player who wants easy access to content. The Pinball Pass is a monthly or yearly payment option that lets you access most of the Pinball FX library and many additional features. It is possible that some tables will not be included in the subscription day one, as different licensors have different rules and requests. https://www.pinballfx.com/wp-content...nballPass_.jpg What is the PinHall? The PinHall is your own virtual arcade space and serves as the background to various feature hubs of Pinball FX. You can unlock many decorative items like Statues, Collectibles, Rugs, Posters to cater to your unique style. Will I be able to organize tournaments? Yes, the Tournaments feature will be present in Pinball FX. When will Pinball FX arrive? Pinball FX will be released for PC in Early Access via the Epic Games Store in March 2022, with a full launch on PC and consoles later in the summer of 2022. What platforms will get Pinball FX? Pinball FX will be available on the Epic Games Store for PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. When can Steam players join? Pinball FX will be exclusive to the Epic Games Store on PC for one year, starting from the launch of Early Access in March 2022. Is Pinball FX a free download for all players? As always, Pinball FX will be a free download for all users. Yes, there will be free content, and we’ll be announcing more about these details at a later date. Are new tables launching for Pinball FX? Yes! Some of them we’ve already revealed. Three Zen Original tables — Curse of the Mummy, Pinball Noir, and Sky Pirates: Treasures of the Clouds — will launch in Early Access on PC. |

Ugh...

Re: The Ultimate Battle Free Pinball Thread
What would you rather buy: A couple gallons of gas, or Indiana Jones pinball? Indy launches tomorrow at $14.99. And it won't carry over to the new platform. Yeowch.
|
Re: The Ultimate Battle Free Pinball Thread
I think it's for the new pinball game, not for Pinball FX3. At least according to the site quoted above it's one of their launch tables.
|
Re: The Ultimate Battle Free Pinball Thread
It's for Pinball FX3 and Williams Mobile. There's a preorder page up for it in the Nintendo eShop as we speak.
From Zen's FB: Start your journey with Indiana Jones™: The Pinball Adventure on Thursday, March 10, in Pinball FX3 and in the Williams Pinball app! Conquer the leaderboards of the first digital version of this legendary table. #indianajonespinball ... Unfortunately, it won't carry over, but you won't have to wait much for the Pinball FX version of the table either. More information on it coming soon! |
Re: The Ultimate Battle Free Pinball Thread
That is such a weird decision, especially at such a high price point. They really shouldn't have asked for more than $9.99 for the table, even with all those licensing fees.

Re: The Ultimate Battle Free Pinball Thread
I gotta say that the Indiana Jones table is worth the 15 bucks. I bought it a few days ago and have been loving it. It is well done and a lot of fun.
I looked at it as how much it would cost to just play the table a few times if I had one near me. Even if it is marked at its original 50 cents a play, I would spend 15 dollars pretty easily. Hell, the other day a buddy and I went to a local pinball place and we both quickly spent 20 dollars in an hour or so on the various tables there. I buy some craft beers that cost as much as 8 bucks a pint or so. When I looked at it that way, it isn't that bad. The table is great. I have only played the real one a handful of times because I never saw it in the wild much. I was in college in 1993 when it came out and didn't see or seek out much pinball around that time. The gameplay is a lot of fun with the various missions challenging but mostly obtainable (though completely 20 passes on the mine cart seems almost impossible). Great sound effects and lots of the best, funny lines from all three movies. Hell, even the gunfire sound effects are lifted straight from the movies! ***** rating from me! |
Re: The Ultimate Battle Free Pinball Thread
I don't have a problem paying $15 for it. But it's going to be "obsolete" in a month when the new "Pinball FX" game comes out. So I will just wait for that, I think.
They didn't handle their next gen conversion well at all. |
Re: The Ultimate Battle Free Pinball Thread
Pinball FX has launched on the Epic Store. It's full of micro transaction "Tickets" to buy. 100 for $10, 1200 for $99.99. It's gross. Don't know how the game is though.
Legacy tables are supposed to be 30% off for the first week apparently. |
Re: The Ultimate Battle Free Pinball Thread
Since the new FX Pinball game looks to be a dud, I had little issue with buying the legacy Williams tables for Pinball FX3 on PS4/5. They’re on sale. Willams Season 1 is 55% off, contains Williams Packs Volume 1-4 and is $14.39. Williams Volume 5 & 6 and Universal Monsters Pack are 55% off or $4.89 each. I was happy to pick up those last three and now I’m at 98/100 tables (missing only Indiana Jones and Epic Quest).

Could be cool...

Re: The Ultimate Battle Free Pinball Thread
I am late to the party but have recently gotten into the tournament mode each week on PinballFX3.
I do have a question regarding it...what is with all the "Hidden" profiles in the tournament standings each week? Are they just bots? |
Re: The Ultimate Battle Free Pinball Thread
We have a date for the new game to hit consoles :

Re: The Ultimate Battle Free Pinball Thread
And they confirmed that the previous tables will not transfer to the new version.

Can I import my previous tables from Pinball FX3 to Pinball FX? No. But there’s a good reason for this: For the new Pinball FX, EVERY SINGLE TABLE in our library has been remastered, updated, and optimized in Unreal Engine to deliver the best pinball experience going forward. This process required considerable effort that, had that effort not taken place, would have left all classic tables already released behind forever. They would not have been able to make the jump to Pinball FX at all due to using an entirely different, more advanced engine. But we would like to make sure that the support of players who invested in previous pinball platforms is recognized, and we are planning on discounting Remastered tables for the first week of launch. |
