My guess is that the license holders see their properties as way more valuable and want way more money than Farsight can offer.

Strange because unless there is some secret developer planning a new game just for B/W pins then everyone involved in this situation loses.

It's an add-on item if you are Prime but Stern Pinball Arcade for Xbox One is now $9.99.

Did we know that there was a Metroidvania-style pinball platformer coming out? I sure didn't. Apparently (and shockingly) it's reportedly awesome!

Apparently it's already out on all three systems for $19.99

Xbox One

PS4

Nintendo Switch

But it's coming out as a physical release Tuesday for all three systems, costing $29.99 on the Xbox One and the PS4 and $39.99 with added Switch tax.

I went and bought the Switch digital version yesterday. I like to wait on sales but with a trip upcoming, I figured it was worth getting it for the plane ride.
It really is cute and fun. Using the pinball dynamic to navigate the course is a lot of fun and you're always thinking how can I get to that next area. Looking forward to playing more tonight.

Cool, thanks. I'll pick up the X1 physical release when I can. I try to support the little games that come out physically so that they well keep coming out physically ;).

Heh, it's already sold out at Amazon. Well, I might wait a bit longer then lol.

That was definitely a fun, weird, little game. I'm not quite done with it, but it's been a blast so far.

All of the Pinball FX3 packs are on sale on Xbox One as part of the Ultimate Game sale. They aren't listed on Major Nelson's page though as part of it so you have to hunt and peck or go through the Game interface. I'm probably picking up the following:

Portal $1.49
Universal Classics $4.99
Star Wars - Last Jedi $4.89
Medieval Pack $1.99 (just to get Excalibur, I have Epic Quest)

There are plenty others, I'm just only missing 13 tables (at least the ones that Pinball Fx3 recognizes) at this point, so that crosses off 7 of them.

Some are also now on sale on PS4 as part of the Flash Sale this weekend.

Thanks for posting this. I picked them up and played them briefly. They seem like decent tables.

But dang, having these classic Universal movies without their original music themes really sucks. They would be so much better if you could play them with the original scores/themes.

Anyone check out Pinball Arcade lately? They mixed up their tables into "manufacturer" packs now. What's really crazy are the Stern Packs. Most have already been released before so if I want the two tables I don't have from the first Stern pack and the third table from the second Stern Pack, that will cost me a whopping $40 plus tax. And unless I am missing something, I don't see a way to buy them separately.

You can with the Spotify app running by selecting the movie's OST. It's the only way that I play those tables.

I brought the Jurassic Park pack for PS4 and I can't get it to work when I click on the icon it just say download and play and when I click on that it show the table installed but I can't play it. What do I do?

Have you tried deleting the DLC, starting up PFX3 to let it see it's not there, then re-download/install?

Well, this seems to shed some light on the licensing issues TPA seems to have had recently.

Re: The Ultimate Battle Free Pinball Thread

Here's a FAQ from Zen

This has been in the works for quite a while to have tables close to being released, with a second set of four before the end of the year. Also, there was a tweet from Mel Kirk, Zen's VP, referencing a tweet from over a year ago about doing a proposal for a license.

Beta is available now on Steam, I've heard mixed things about it, don't really have a machine to test it on. Some people are saying the new physics for the tables are way less realistic than TPA, while others are saying they're way more realistic. The one's not liking it seem to be the ones that seem to think TPA's physics were accurate, and complain about balls bouncing and not going smoothly up ramps and stuff. The same people are also saying the ball is faster coming at you and doesn't travel to the back as well, sounds like the tables are a steeper angle to me. All this sounds a little more realistic to me especially because as much as I like TPA, it feels a little slow to me and is no where near realistic, it was just way more realistic than most things before.

I'm looking forward to trying it when it comes out on PS4, and who knows I might even buy them on Switch too. It's also fun seeing some of the people having a meltdown over the different physics because every shot isn't infinitely repeatable.

It seems like a weird decision. This isn't like losing the rights to James Bond or Marvel Comics - - I can't imagine any way to monetize these licenses beyond the Far Sight deal.

Check out this genius -rolleyes- . SOMEBODY isn't going to become the next president of Zen Studios!

If somebody hasn't bought digital versions of these tables, they are pretty unlikely to in a future iteration. And even I am unlikely to rebuy them in the future.
Okay, I stand by that. I don't want to rebuy these tables that I already own, even if the Zen Pinball optional extras are added. I hope they keep making original tables. :fc:

Re: The Ultimate Battle Free Pinball Thread

I feel lucky that I didn't invest much money or time into TPA, but that was more a matter of happenstance than disinterest. I will happily add these to my Zen library.
