Hope they are good....I would like to enjoy playing pinball again.

I'd switch to PS3/Vita for my pinball if they're exclusive. And I don't have a Vita.

No way it's a PS exclusive. Can't wait for this table. I'm sure it'll be awesome. Even if the Civil Wars table sucks.

Yeah, I might just pick that up.

I assume it'll be $10 for three tables. A little more than Marvel, but certainly reasonable enough.

Re: The Ultimate Battle Free Pinball Thread

I wonder why they pulled all the info yesterday from the PS Blog and yanked the You Tube videos. Seems like a lot of effort if they were going to totally expose everything today.

Re: The Ultimate Battle Free Pinball Thread

There was clearly a noon PST NDA on it. Probably in partnership with Lucasarts. I say "clearly" because all the articles hit simultaneously, including the pre-recorded IGN featurette.

Re: The Ultimate Battle Free Pinball Thread

Be interesting to see what they do with the prequels. Does every movie get a table or do they make a prequel trilogy table to free up a couple of spots for something else?

pinata242 02-05-13 04:35 PM

Re: The Ultimate Battle Free Pinball Thread

A single PT table would be enough for me as well, but I don't know if I'd consider it a waste if it was three tables. If they sell well enough, it's not like they're going to prevent other releases. They'll smartly not have a "Prequel Pack", though, that's for certain.

Decker 02-05-13 05:28 PM

Re: The Ultimate Battle Free Pinball Thread

They would certainly have to make a separate individual table for each episode I presume. Thematically it would be a lot easier than trying to lump them all together on one table and would, in turn, require less reaches for the other tables coming down the pike. Honestly, I'm sort of stunned they were able to put together a Boba Fett table based on his total of, what, ten minutes of screen-time. Besides, lumping the prequels together while releasing Episodes IV, V & VI separately would be a tacit acknowledgement that the prequels were inferior and less important to the canon of Star Wars, and while we all feel that to be the case, I'm sure it's not the image Lucasfilm wants to present.

Jcheckel 02-05-13 05:43 PM

Re: The Ultimate Battle Free Pinball Thread

They could potentially do a Darth Vader table that would cover a lot of the prequel stuff all together. I don't know a lot about the Boba Fett expanded universe stuff, but the IGN video said some of the Boba Fett stuff was taken from there.

Re: The Ultimate Battle Free Pinball Thread

Boba is the EU and Internet darling. I'm not surprised at all he has his own table. In fact, I'd say his table is the stand-out of this package, not ESB.

Matt 02-05-13 05:59 PM

Re: The Ultimate Battle Free Pinball Thread

A Vader table makes too much sense, but I could also also see them doing separate Sith Lords and Jedi Knights tables.

Only two other "miscellaneous" tables available if they do a table per movie.

Jcheckel 02-05-13 06:07 PM

Re: The Ultimate Battle Free Pinball Thread

I think the interview said not every movie will get a table.

Yes, Twilight Zone is finally available on PS3, however those of us who kickstarted it still haven't received our codes :( I've waited this long, so a few more days won't kill me, but it's kind of crappy that I essentially pre-ordered this and don't have it before those who didn't kickstart.

Yeah, that does suck, as does the fact that you can get the Operator's version of the table and the special ball for a total of $10 when that was at least a $25 package for Kickstarters. I don't know if I care enough to spend an extra 3 on the Operator's menu feature. Will have to look further. That special ball does look cool for $2 though.

You can get tote bags way cheaper than your PBS pledge too.

I don't think Decker was complaining about paying more by kickstarting, I think he was agreeing that at least we should get the stuff before the general public. Isn't that one of the primary drivers for kickstarting? Support stuff you want and get it before the general public or at all in cases of limited releases.

pinata242 02-06-13 11:17 AM

Re: The Ultimate Battle Free Pinball Thread

Well, I think getting codes for PSN depends more on Sony/PSN than it does the kickstarters.

First of all : Never knew that about the tote bags. Sorry Elmo, you're cut off now!

Secondly : Yeah as an outsider in this, I just think it's not fair that you Kickstarters didn't get a freaking week of exclusivity or, at very least, a chance to get the table you funded on the same day as the rest of us. Pinball Arcade comes out with Scared Stiff next week; it wouldn't have been that hard to flip those releases on PSN so the Kickstarters got theirs first. I know I'd be pissed if Pebbles were available in the store while I was (am) still waiting for mine to ship.
