From Pinball Arcade's Facebook page:

The following is our X-Box announcement from our newsletter:

FarSight offers its apologies for the delays in releasing additional content for the Xbox 360 of Pinball Arcade. We want to assure 360 players that these delays are temporary and we fully intend to continue supporting this console. The issues are not the fault of Microsoft nor are they due to the title update procedure. The 360 is the only platform that we cannot publish on directly. Selling digital content requires a current Publishing License Agreement (PLA) with Microsoft to release games. We are working through complications regarding our publisher Crave Entertainment filing bankruptcy. At this moment, we are not able to submit new content. However, we expect to start rolling out the updates shortly and catch the Table Pack releases on 360 up to the other platforms within a few months.

Twilight Zone will be part of the November Update. Star Trek The Next Generation will be following it in December. Terminator 2 is going to be their next Kickstarter. They are also working on Cactus Canyon right now.

UI redesign should be part of the December update.

They are talking with Steve Ritchie, John Popaduik and others about creating original tables as well.

They are also thinking about doing another "adult" themed only Pinball Arcade, so they can get some stuff that wouldn't normally be allowed in Pinball Arcade (since it's rated E). They mentioned Medieval Madness (family friendly disabled), South Park, Playboy, Sopranos, etc.

Re: The Ultimate Battle Free Pinball Thread

I never knew there was a Sopranos table. The rights for that would almost certainly be more difficult than Twilight Zone to negotiate. Would love to get it though.

The last Vita update had No Good Gophers, Elvira Party Monaters as well as Harley Davidson and Taxi, but you're not actually allowed to buy those last two tables yet. I assume they'll be available on PSN very soon.

With almost no publicity, the Civil Wars table came out on PSN today. I bought it, but can't get it to p,ay on my PS3. There needs to be a game update I can't force, I guess. Played it on the Vita once, though. It's a cool table. Lots of ramps and lots of flippers. Not really like any other table, but maybe closest to World War Hulk, I guess. Very talky table, listening to Iron Man and Cap America argue is sort of weird in a game of pinball. Plus I only know the story arc from MUA 2, which as I understand it is only a rough version of the story. There's a lot to learn on this table and I'm not sure what I'm doing at all. It'll help when I get the PS3 version up and running. It's too hard to read the missions on the Vita during gameplay.

I bought it on Marvel Pinball last night so I could have it in all 3 places for whatever reason. I had to download from the store in both Zen 2s since the import function wasn't working. When I went to the PS3 version, it was showing as a trial version. I got it to work on PS3 by redownloading the unlock file for the table from my download history. Gonna hold off on impressions until I can figure out what is going on on the table.

Thank you to the Kickstarters. This looks pretty cool.

Also, the base Pinball Arcade game is on sale for $4.99 on PSN this week. Four tables (Arabian Nights, Black Hole, Theater of Magic, Ripley's Believe It Or Not) for PS3 & PS Vita.

My patient who owns 23 pinball machines in his house just informed me that there is a company called Jersey Jack that is making new, state-of-the-art pinball machines with LED displays. Their first machine will be a Wizard of Oz machine. It'll cost $7500, but you can pre-order and pay in installments.

Re: The Ultimate Battle Free Pinball Thread

Yep, I played WOZ a few weeks ago, it's a really nice machine, but most of the rules aren't done yet. It's the first mass produced pin to have an LCD display. It's got all color changing/programmable LED's for lighting, which is really, really cool, since it means any insert can be any color whenever they want. They are doing The Hobbit next, due to come out in July 2014, when the final movie is released.

BTW, Twilight Zone is out!

Here is my current lineup. That's Gorgar on the far left, it's working, I'm just in the middle of refinishing some of the metal on it that was rusty and cruddy. Fish Tales I just recently picked up, it still needs to be cleaned up. T2 I just shipped out the gun shooter to get re-chromed. I'm trying to sell Starship Troopers now. Probably going to pick up a No Good Gofers next. After that, i'll be getting one of the 250 Predator pinball machines that is currently under development, and then hopefully Metallica pinball from Stern (if the rumors are true). Also toying with the idea of an AC/DC Premium at some point, but man those fuckers are expensive, probably have to sell at least T2 and maybe Gorgar though if I did that.

On Wednesday, PFX2 on XBLA gets the 4 classic ZP tables. I really want Tesla, but I think I'll wait on a sale on this pack.

Tesla, Eldorado, Shaman and V12 will be available for Pinball FX2 on Xbox LIVEŽ Arcade on Wednesday, December 12th. Each table in this 4-pack has been re-mastered with upgraded graphics and physics, and will be available as DLC for Pinball FX2 for 800 MSP.

Zen Classics tables:

Conduct dangerous experiments and uncover the mysteries of the brilliant turn-of-the-century scientist in Tesla. Guide the silver ball to emit electromagnetic waves and activate electric arcs that provide life to the genius inventions that power the world we enjoy today.

Experience life as a novice witch doctor who must master the trade of summoning spectacular phenomena in Shaman. Maneuver the silver ball through treacherous spin discs, ramp jumps, challenging missions, and crazy playfield toys! Harness the power of the supernatural and prove you are the true Shaman.

The treasures of Eldorado have long been buried in the depths of dangerous jungles in ancient Mayan lands. Journey though the perils of the ancient ruins, activate Mayan technology to unlock puzzles, and avoid deadly traps during the hunt for hidden treasures that will make you rich beyond your wildest imagination.

Tune your engines for maximum performance in V12, a pinball table for automotive gearheads! Upgrade parts and create the perfect driving machine as you turbo charge your way around the ramps. This table is built for those who live life without limits, so max the nitro tank and be the first to cross the finish line!

That's pretty cool. I'll grab them, just to have something "new" to play from them that isn't Marvel related. Granted, I have Zen Pinball on PS3, but it's been years since I've played it.

Star Trek TNG was just released on iOS.

flashburn 12-20-12 06:57 PM

Re: The Ultimate Battle Free Pinball Thread

They also released "phase 1" of their interface changes. It looks like a high school project, and you still have to slide left/right to view tables, the only difference is you can see like 4 of them at a time. Hopefully phase 1 is only equal to about 20% complete.

Re: The Ultimate Battle Free Pinball Thread

Looks like Pinball Arcade will be releasing Elvira : Scared Stiff along with a really old table -- Big Shot (1973). So that's the first package that didn't include a Williams Pinball Hall of Fame rerun.

I see that both Star Trek TNG and Twilight Zone are already out for iOS, but won't be coming to PSN for another month. I see there's a "Pro Version" of the Star Trek table for a pricey $7.99, but I can't find an explanation anywhere of what the difference is. Can someone explain it to me?
edit: I guess it's access to the operator's menu, ball control and other stuff that's standard on the Zen tables. Looks like it'll just be the standard version for me whenever it comes out.

What the fuck is up with the Xbox version of this game? Why haven't they gotten any of these new tables?

On Xbox, Crave was their publisher and they went out of business, they're in the process of getting a new one. Everything is supposedly ready to submit once the new publisher is finalized.

Re: The Ultimate Battle Free Pinball Thread

They apparently have a new publisher now, they are just finalizing the details.

BTW, the next pack will be Attack From Mars and Genie. Genie is the first "super" wide-body to be released on TPA.

Re: The Ultimate Battle Free Pinball Thread

I fired up Pinball Arcade on my XBox the other day and there was a new title update on it. After launching a table, the sync was really bad. I'd hit a trigger to use the flippers, and there was a noticeable delay of a second of two that made playing it impossible. The game never had an issue like that when I was playing it before.

I backed the two tables that they kickstarted and chose 360 as my version. I'm hoping that they update the game again, when the new publisher comes online and they push more tables via dlc/updates.

Finally a release without a Williams recycle and they add another one from the Gottlieb Collection.

How disappointing :(

Attack From Mars and Genie were just released on iOS. Xbox sure is going to have to play catchup. I wonder if they are just going to release like 20 tables at the same time?

A friend of mine just picked up a beater Attack From Mars that he is in the process of restoring. They normally sell for over $10K in good condition. I've never played one in person, so I'm really looking forward to that once he gets his playfield back.

Genie is pretty sweet, it's an old school wide-body, which means it's more like a super wide-body.

For a few minutes Playstation blog had an announcement for Star Wars pinball from Zen for Vita and PS3 announcing 3 tables, Empire Strikes Back, Clone Wars, and Boba Fett tables with 7 more to come this year. I'm pretty sure it said it was coming later this month.
