Did anyone who canceled online receive a cancellation e mail? I do show the "not been activated or blocked" message too when trying to sign in but don't trust this company for shit anymore. I would rather have an e mail to saved when they try and charge me a couple months down the line.

My account has been deactivated for almost 2 full days now. I can't login anymore, which I thought was good, but I'm still getting the daily newsletter.
Hopefully that's just a symptom of shitty programming and nothing to be worried about regarding auto-renewal. Though I did disable that before I fully deactivated my account, so one would hope they at least honor that flag in the DB. |

As I said before, it is flat out rotten and borderline illegal. I want my account with their corrupt organization CANCELED so I will never be charged by them, once and for all. So the other day, I went through the online process of turning off auto-renew, but didn't fully cancel my membership. Just out of curiosity, I tried to login today and it told me my username was "not registered or is blocked." Morons. Oh well, good riddance.
Edit: OK, it just occurred to me that they probably just now processed my Google postcard, as I just got a cancellation email as well. Still, fuck em. |

They still haven't figured out the difference between auto-renewing a membership and the membership itself? I hope people now start complaining to the BBB about having their memberships wrongfully terminated.

They don't send newsletters over the weekend. I still receive mine, last one was on Friday too.
I actually tried to cancel through the website a few days ago and it says that my account is disabled or something like that. I sent a google card but I haven't received any confirmation that my membership was cancelled. |

The history is: ECA decided that the only way for members to cancel the autorenewal of their membership was to write a letter to them... no email, no online button (though one was available before, they claimed it never worked). So some people used the free google christmas cards to send in their cancellations, instead of mailing in a letter and paying for postage.
Later on, ECA relented and now have an online button to cancel your membership. |
