Which Do You Collect More? DVDs/Blu-Rays or Video Games?
I have been starting to build my DVD Collection back up again as well as collect a few video games. I usually buy 1 video game and 1 or two blu-rays or DVDs when I get paid. What do you like to collect more?

Hardly play video games that much anymore except for Left 4 Dead 1 & 2, so DVD's and Blu-Ray's for me.

You might get a pretty lopsided answer in this forum.
I loved gaming back when I was young - in the 8-bit and 16-bit days.
Now that I'm in my 30's I still find them very interesting and am amazed at how much they have advanced. But, I have to admit I rarely play games at all anymore. I buy some titles here and there, but usually it's just to satisfy pangs of nostalgia and I rarely put in the time that's required to really enjoy them.
With movies though I definitely enjoy re-watching them every once in a while, and often just like to have titles I've already seen playing in the background while I do other things... sort of keeps me company.
Funny thing though... I really enjoy watching video game reviews, journalism and fan-made videos. I visit gametrailers.com almost daily. I just don't actually play the games.

I dont say I collect DVDs or Blu-rays. I say I collect cinematic media. I have VHS, DVDs, Blu-ray, HD-DVD, and even MPEG-4 iTunes downloads. Anywho... I only have a few video games. I'm too busying watching movies to play games.

Your thread topic implies quantity: "Do you have more of one or the other?"
The poll question implies quality: "Which do you like(prefer) to collect?"
I love both, but seeing as it can take substantially more time to play and finish a video game (I'm about 70 hours into Dragon Age Origins and think I may be about 2/3rds of the way through), it's only logical that I'd be able to fit in watching several movies/tv shows over the span of playing a single game. Thus DVD/Blu-Ray wins out on quantity- always.
As far as which I like better, I don't know if I can answer that question. I love watching DVDs, but it's a passive experience. I love playing video games, it's more immediate and visceral. They scratch different itches.

DVD's & Blu-Ray's
I used to have a ton of video games, but over the years I've found that my time to play them has dwindled. After I hit that point, I sold off 75% of my entire collection and stop buying certain games if I didn't have the time to finish them.
I've only kept the ones I can play over and over again.

DVDs. I'm not nearly as big a gamer as I used to be. Hell, up until a couple of months ago, I didn't even own a system.

Definately DVD's. I have a collection of over 2000 SD and am not about to upgrade to Blu Ray. I am very happy with my picture quality from the SD and my Panasonic EDTV. I am just not into gaming at all-

With video games I tend to sell them off as soon as I'm sure I won't play them again, Blu Ray's the same, but DVDs I just keep mounting up!

DVDs...and VHS--still. Just last Wed. I bought a VHS of HEAVY METAL 2000 for $2.
No Blu-rays, no video games.

Re: Which Do You Collect More? DVDs/Blu-Rays or Video Games?
I had over 1,500 DVD's at one ponit but sold them off. Now I just buy Blu's that I love or kid movie fave's like Cars, Monster House, Up, Monster's Inc., etc... I have about 30 360 games and 25-30 Wii games (for the kids, I hate the Wii). My game buying has decreased because I would rather rent a game for a couple weeks for $8 and be done with it unless it's something that I can keep coming back to, like NHL10, COD's, Rock Band, etc... It just doesn't seem worth it to buy games when there are always so many new games coming out all the time. I try to not have a backlog because games get cheaper while they sit on the shelf, and nothing's worse than spending $50-$60 on a game that by the time you get around to playing it it sells for $20-30.

Was this posted in another forum and moved here, or do people who don't buy games just read the gaming forum?
I play more games than I watch movies, but I don't collect them. It's extremely rare that a game holds up over time, especially games since the 3D/realistic era began.

I don't collect video games, I play them. There are very few games I consider good enough to keep after I've finished them. So my "collection" of games isn't huge. A good movie I can watch over and over, so that is a collection. Also, I can get Blu-rays for $10-$15 a pop, whereas even with a good deal the cheapest I can get a game is about $40.

Movies. Lately, my free time has been about 90% games 10% movies but it's still movies. I love them immensely. There's not nearly enough good games.

With the Redbox and Netflix streaming I have bought maybe 3 dvd's and blu-rays in the last 2 years.
