Re: Borderlands
Does anyone know how to get internet to my xbox, without directly connecting to the internet, and without buying a expensive wireless adapter? I read somewhere that you can do this?
|
Re: Borderlands
Any USB wireless adapter should work with the 360. No need to spend $99 on the branded version.

Here's a nice step-by-step article |
Re: Borderlands
I was thinking about this today : When was the last time a game seemingly came out of nowhere with almost no hype surrounding it and immediately became a must-play hit? There are so many new IP games that barely register as a blip on the radar and even highly regarded, well reviewed games without a built-in audience like Mirror's Edge and Dead Space note only modest sales despite coming from gaming's top selling publisher. To see how hugely successful and popular Borderlands is, it's kind of astonishing, especially since almost nobody was more than casually aware of it when Superfro started this thread a mere 2 1/2 weeks ago. Every game developer must dream of this sort of overnight success. My hat's off to these folks who made this game, it's a hell of a fine product and they certainly deserve the success they are currently enjoying.

Re: Borderlands
speaking of this game, there was an update this morning when I fired it up, so maybe they fixed some of those achievement issues.
|
Re: Borderlands
Nope, not yet:
Update notes: * Fixed a bug which caused players and other things in the world to appear incorrectly on clients in networked games * fixed a bug in which players gibbed in arena combat disappeared * fixed a bug which caused the dollars counter to spin continuously * fixed a bug that caused the digger elevator to be unusable after completing the Find Tannis mission * Weapon mapping to the D-pad should no longer reverse left and right * various localization and other text and tooltip corrections * The introductory quests with CL4P-TP should now always progress properly all the time * Lilith's Phase Strike ability now works as intended * Load times have been improved |
Re: Borderlands
bummer. it'll be funny one day to sign on and get a few achievements when you start if they fix it as you say. :)

No doubt. Playthrough #2 is way more fun. It actually forces you to specialize your character based on whatever mods and/or weapons you actually have.
It really helps to have a partner to play through it. My buddy and I are having fun with our level 39 Siren and Hunter. If you ever see me in a party playing, feel free to join up. Especially you low-level noobs that want some quick levels ;) |

Still, I get your point and do agree. |

Re: Borderlands
found the first real glitch in game play for me and a buddy. did the sledge mission but it said he was ineligible, despite us playing co-op the entire way. he didn't get the xp for that and now it won't let him get xp for any of the upcoming regular missions. he'll get credit for the side missions, though. suck.
|
Re: Borderlands
Also, question. We did the mission (can't remember names) where you have to switch on the power at those two power line poles. then you run to turn on the master switch. it told us we now have the ability to transport, but neither of us was paying attention. what was that?

the poles that you go to too reset your stats...and also where you start when you start your game after you have turned it off...you can now teleport to anyone you have already been to in the world....sort of a fast travel thing. Saves a LOT of backtracking and fighting of lower level enemies that give you no exp.

Re: Borderlands
thanks foxdvd. figured it out. i thought i checked one of those things but apparently i didn't because it's pretty simple.

Re: Borderlands
If anyone with an xbox wants to get the "And They'll Tell Two Friends" achievment, which requires you to play with a member of Gearbox or someone who has played a member of gearbox, add me to your friends list, and invite me to a game..it takes 1 second to get, and I have it.
FOXDVD is my gamer tag I am level 43 on my second play and so if you are also on your second play, and want to level grind you can invite me as well, or if you are low level and want to power level your character send me a request, and it will take you minutes in my game to level up a 1-10 level character to level 15-20... |
Re: Borderlands
i have it. if i see you on i'll do a quick invite.
|
Re: Borderlands
What I don't get about Borderlands: the economy seems to be based on paper money (for small denominations) and garden gnomes (for large denominations). What's up with that?
|
Re: Borderlands
well, that glitch my buddy and i experienced had a work around. he did those missions on his own, and then we could continue along with the game, both getting credit for missions.
|
Re: Borderlands
So is this game the "new" Red Faction? It sure sounds like it. While I enjoyed RF's Multiplayer, the Single player left me frustrated and kinda annoyed.
I was thinking of picking up Borderlands until it started sounding like Red Faction. |

I'm enjoying Borderlands, but, no. |

I'm enjoying Borderlands, but, no. It's a decent time waster until some games with substance come out (COD, Assassins 2 etc) but not GOTY. |

Agreed, Borderlands is fun, but not even as good as Sacred 2 was for a "Diablo" rip off....with guns. There is absolutely NO story, and very little to the guns and leveling up. It's just barely addicting enough to warrant playing it :)
