The 2009 Holiday Season Video Game Anticipation Thread
So with the release of Halo:ODST today, I guess we're officially at the part of the year when publishers roll out their big guns. What games are people looking forward to? What should be on everyone's radar?
For me, my list includes:
360
Borderlands (Oct. 20)
Dragon Age: Origins (Oct. 20)
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (Nov. 10)
Assassin's Creed 2 (Nov. 17)
Wii
A Boy and His Blob (2009)
New Super Mario Brothers (2009)

DJ Hero - Xbox 360 (10/27/2009)
Lego Rock Band - Xbox 360 (11/2/2009)
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 - Xbox 360 (11/10/2009)
Left 4 Dead 2 - Xbox 360 (11/17/2009)
New Super Mario Bros. - Wii - (Holiday 2009)

I will probably hold off on Uncharted 2, Lego RB, and L4D2 and hope to get those as Christmas gifts. The rest I'm getting at launch.

I'm kinda light since Bioshock & Blur got pushed but I think these should hold me over quite well:
Fallout 3: GOTY
Lego Rock Band
Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks
and at some point I'll nab:
God of War Collection
Metroid Prime Trilogy
And all that is on top of the recently released: Halo: ODST, Scribblenauts & The Beatles: RockBand.

I think The Beatles: Rock Band was the first big release.
The only game I know I will really want to get is Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. And I'm thinking I will probably be getting New Super Mario Bros. for the Wii as well.

You're probably right. Its main wikipedia page says November 3, but this page:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Xbox_360_games
says October 20. My guess is that the October date is old information that never got updated. Nobody tell grundle!

Keeping in mind that I haven't bought a new game since Madden and NCAA, and the fact that I need to play Uncharted, R&C, AC, Left 4 Dead and others before I can play the sequels....
DS
Space Invaders Extreme 2
Wii
New Super Mario Bros.
360
Nothing
PS3
NBA 2K10
Borderlands
Modern Warfare 2
God of War Collection
Dragon Age Origins
Hopefully 3 of the PS3 games can be gotten in the TRU sale.

I have the same 3, plus Fable 2 and Bioshock. I don't think I've played anything but RB/TB:RB since May.

CoD:Modern Warfare 2 will be a launch purchase for me.
I will probably hold off on everything else and ask for three games for Christmas/birthday:
Beatles Rock Band
Lego Rock Band
Left 4 Dead 2
Depending on reviews i may start looking into Dragon Age but i rarely have time for non-portable RPGs anymore.
