Speaking of another DLC package... I was just playing online yesterday with someone who was using a Level 70 Soldier! I was like WTF? Then I noticed his PSN ID was "Gearhead"... a possible Gearbox employee maybe?

Right on, I think we had this same conversation a few weeks ago. Could be a hacker/modder. Is that prolific on the PS3?

Finished the game last week along with my nephew. Made it to level 36.

Just installed the DLC disc, do we have to make it all the way half through the game again to access the fast travel to be able to play them or is it available from the get go [Play through 2]?

on PT1, available at any fast travel (New U-station), PT 2, should be available right outside Dr. Zed's garage (New U-station) at beginning after get off bus.

Yeah passed game then installed dlc disc but when restarted game in took me to the beginning [playthrough 2].... good to read, i didn't want to play half-way the game again to get the fast-travel... thanks

Re: Borderlands

First, you should be able to pick if you want to go to playthrough 1 or 2 when picking your character after finishing the game once.

Second, you can fast travel to the DLC at anytime during the game from a New-U station. You don't have to have the fast travel quest finished to go to those- but you will need to do that quest in order to fast travel in the main game.

WTF! It started me at play-through 2, I must have have missed something or pushed a button by mistake, but don't remember having that option at all... hmmm

We passed it, then credits, then I had to turn in vault key [then nothing else] and it already said play-through 2 on my & nephews characters. another hmmm

On the PC I see a screen like this:

I don't know what it looks like on the console.

Was someone other than you hosting the game? They may have set which playthrough you were in.

Like TScott says and shows.....when you complete the first playthru, upon startup you are now offered a choice....1st or 2nd. If you choose 1st you'll end up where you last played or saved. Now if you choose 2nd and you haven't started 2nd you'll get the "Fresh Off The Bus" stuff just like you got starting your first playthru.

Re: Borderlands

Thanks--got the Zombie Island last night and plan to get the other 2 too. For $5 each it's hard to go wrong...

pinata242 07-27-10 09:16 AM

Re: Borderlands

You definitely need to get General Knoxx for $5 as it has just an insane amount of content even at the original $10 price. Moxxi is iffy, but I still say it's worth $5.

Groucho 07-27-10 09:18 AM

Re: Borderlands

I threw down $5.00 for Moxxi. I'm a pack rat and I could really use the bank.

So I'm assuming we'll get word on DLC#4 & the GOTY ed. after this sale is over. From twitter (via reddjoey on cag):

My Borderlands disc that had a crack at the inside has now spread halfway through the disc, well into the data. But thanks to the install on the 360, it still works!

Re: Borderlands

I ended up downloading mad moxxi and general knox. I usually don't buy this much dlc for one game but i figure since i paid $0 for the original game $15 ain't too bad a deal :)

For Mad Moxxi should i play it now (lvl 40 siren) or wait till i get top a higher level? I already finished Zombie Island should i just start on General Knox? This is all done on playthrough 1.

It's not going to really matter with Moxxi as you're not awarded with points to level up based on kills or penalized with losing $$$ if you die. It's an arena/horde style play where you face waves with different mods are put into effect. You are awarded with Level up when completing certain stages.

Since you're at Level 40 at 1st Playthru you're fine at Knoxx but expect a few areas that can be challenging. Just make sure you have a good "Fire & Corrosive" mod/weapon. With the Siren use her "Mercenary Mod" with a good Hellfire SMG and she'll do good. I like the "Plague Bearer" mod to but good Corrosive SMG's are so-so at that Level. Besides a Hellfire SMG if you can get your hands on this...you'll do some serious butt kicking.....by the way the better version is Level 61 and packs a bit more punch.

DLC 4 rumors/spoilers: http://gbxforums.gearboxsoftware.com...d.php?t=108873

Spoiler:
Ok, i know Gearbox probably didn't want this to come out but i might aswell post it up for everone now a large proportion of the community knows anyway. Dlc is close to being among us and recently in the pc patch 1.31 a folder which contained information about the next dlc was found. If you don't want to know this or want to keep the suprise in the DLC then stop reading now... seriously now.
Also please note that I am not a Gearbox employee - all of this information is just what i can gather from the files. Some of the following information may turn out to be false.

If you are a Gearbox employee and don't want any of this information out until you make an offical announcement feel free to delete this thread or message me and request i delete it.

DLC Introduction:

Marcus: Our story began when the Hyperion Corporation decided they'd had enough of the treasure hunters. With The Vault on lockdown, they had served their purpose, and now they were a drain on the economy. Why pay full price for
weapons when you can take a five-finger discount off the nearest corpse?

Marcus: Hyperion was looking to clear the drain, but those guys were one tough hairball...

Intro Kid: I thought you said the treasure hunters were the drain. Now they're the hairball?

Marcus: Well- yes, see the treasure hunters were blocking the flow of- and the grimy build-up of money and-

Intro Kid: This metaphor stinks...

Marcus: Shut up! The point is Hyperion had a plan. The treasure hunters could handle all manner of beastie, bandit, and batallion, but they weren't expecting the ... Interplanetary Ninja Assassin Claptrap!

Marcus: This claptrap was programmed to take our boys out indirectly. Trapping, poisoning, spreading catty rumors around town. Nothing was off-limits. He was smart... too smart.

Marcus: He looked around, and didn't like what he saw: claptraps being subjugated, humliated, obliterated. What we call programming, he called slavery.
So he rallied his fellow claptraps and turned them against their corporate masters. What started as a rebellion became a revolution. And take a wild guess who Hyperion called to clean up the mess...

*WARNING VERY BIG SPOILERS BELOW*

Story Overview:

Basically the ninja claptrap was created by Hyperion to stop the vault hunters from taking all the guns and treasure etc... but was too clever, he saw other claptraps being 'enslaved' and 'killed' - he wanted it to stop so he started a claptrap revoloution. Now Hyperion have asked the vault hunters to help them stop the claptrap uprising and return things back to normal but the claptraps have gone about... re-animating dead people and adding claptrap robot parts to them to fight in their army. Some of the people re-animated include Dr Ned. Commandant Steele and General Knoxx.

features:

Quote:
new enemies

To understand this: at the top (without a number next to it) is the basic name of the enemy and below it are versions with number. If it has a number 1 next to it this is what the enemy will be called in P.T. 1
A number 2 shows what it will be called in P.T. 2
A number 3 shows what it will be called in P.T. 2.5
A number 4 is so far a mystery

If the enemy only has a 1 next to it this means that it is called that on all play through.

I have highlighted red which enemies I personally believe will be bosses.
