Re: Borderlands
Question.
So I'm going through the last missions, and a Claptrap message comes on, saying: "there are new missions available at the 'so-and-so' bounty-board".
I couldn't understand which bounty-board he was saying - besides checking each bounty-board individually, is there a way to find out which ones have available missions?

Re: Borderlands
I had some problems understanding that too a couple of times. There's only 4 in the main game so it's not too much trouble to check each, but since you're at the end- most likely it's the 'Middle of Nowhere'. There's a scavenger mission that opens up once you reach the Salt Flats.
The boards in order of how you should find them are:
Fyrestone Bounty Board
Lucky's Bounty Board
New Haven Bounty Board
Middle Of Nowhere Bounty Board
If it turns out it's not actually a bounty board, try Crazy Earl or Scooter.

Re: Borderlands
Alright, so I'm at level 32 and enjoying the game, but keep thinking it can be even better playing with other people. I tried randoms, but they just do their own thing and doesn't really work as a team, this one guy did gift me a $9,999,999 gun, so he was cool.
So if anybody is down to play with a lvl 32 soldier, or maybe even boost the duel achievements, I'm down. I wouldn't mind getting the multiplayer achievements.
Oh and thanks for the heads up on King Wee Wee, I'm about to go up against him.

The only way is just go there and I'm willing to bet it's either New Haven or Middle of No-where...no trouble since you fast travel almost right on top of them.

PS3 or 360?......must be close to Salt Flats level...finishing Rust commons East?
Theres a coop one and the Duels...not all of them...of course...someone that's played thru their second playthru would be great way to Level you up if that's what you want? Or just someone who is a bit higher along for the ride to watch your back. More players = more points. The final mission before the Last Boss on second playthru is a great way to level up someone who is about your Level. Allot of points and quick to move up your weapon proficiency.

If this is your first playthru I'd advise for the moment stay at your level and work your way up...the game is more enjoyable yet frustrating at times. Playing the whole game first time with little help or a coop pal is the way to go....it's just better that way.
Second time thru or a second character it depends. No doubt being a few levels higher makes a bit easier, especially second playthru around. What i did was stagger my characters. Played all the way thru and then started a second character. I usually had my characters about 4-6 level differences. I would then move my good weapons "down" that I no longer needed. Of course you need the "Moxxie" DLC with the banks for that. Helpful if you have two or more characters going. You can add me if you want...send a friends request. I probably have some stuff you're more than welcome to.

Re: Borderlands
I've got a question about the achievements...
I've noticed that there are at least five different colors. On the "Green Ones" the discription is listed twice. Is this using two different characters or the same one completing both playthrus? But I wonder why ome are showing "twice" and others not?
The weird part is the other day I was moving weapons around to different players using my shadow split-screen coop and then suddendly got "Sometimes they call me..Tim" achievement. That's for equipping your character with a class mod. All mine were above 52 at that time.

Re: Borderlands
i'm betting you got the "sometimes they call me...tim" achievement on your OTHER account, not buzz, but whatever your "mule" account is. remember, all accounts get achievements! not just your main one. here is your achievement status for that on xbl:
Acquired 10/25/2009
check your mule account!

Haven't checked but I bet you're right. I had to move stuff with some lower level mods to make room and my "mule "soldier" is Level 22 so it could've triggered it.
I'm still perplexed about the color codes on the achievements and why some are showing twice done and others not? It's no big deal...just curious.

Re: Borderlands
I just realized why so many people think the General Knoxx DLC is so tough. I think they're playing it on their second playthrough which, besides bumping up enemy levels, is just more difficult over-all, hence the better loot. But if you go to it while still on your first playthrough, at around level 35, it's no more difficult than the regular game and a natural progression.

Re: Borderlands
But if you got General Knoxx when you're already level 50 and have completed the second playthrough, Nancying down to PT1 was just lame.
The only time we had any problem with Knoxx was the very first ambush and we were actually out-leveled again and we had to deal with all kinds of new resistant enemies. It leveled out.

Re: Borderlands
I mentioned that earlier. I was a 50(haven't finished playthrough 2) and booted up Knoxx (PT2 by defaut) and got my ass handed to me for about 30 minutes before I realized I was on the second playthrough.

Re: Borderlands
Perhaps I'll pickup Knoxx instead of going through playthrough 2 first. I've tried to get the backpack sdu on playthrough 2 from the safehouse about 8 times now with no success. I am beginning to think I should just rescue the claptraps and forget about getting all 5 possible backpacks.

I forgot to point out how hilarious it was that the end boss was basically a giant Vagina Dentata, along with tentacles and an eyeball for a clitoris that was the weak-spot to shoot at - H.P.Lovecraft would have a field day with that!
Which reminds me, just for shits and giggles, here's a friend of mine wearing a Vagina Dentata prosthesis for a cheap horror movie she was in - enjoy!

The Rakk Hive had a bit of a vag-mouth, but I was talking about the very end boss at the Vault, which had the vertical mouth and pointy teeth and everything. I'm told that it is men that are scared of women who tend to sub-consciously come up with such designs.
