Re: Borderlands

So... I decided to spin this up last night and before I knew it I sank 4 hours into it. I didn't even want to get up to use the restroom. I think I was mid-Level 11 when I quit.

I started with the Siren. I'm not sure if that was the wisest of choices. Still fun, I'm just not utilizing her abilities like I should.

Spoiler:
Overlord just isn't doing it for me. It was a fun distraction for a few days, but I just can't get into it. Borderlands won out.

Re: Borderlands

Looking for some co-op fun as well. My highest is a Hunter at level 11. Then have every other class at levels 3-5. Need to play this more!

Re: Borderlands

This has probably been answered but I'm willing to be lazy and ask. What is different on the second playthrough that makes it more fun besides the new creature names? It's just the same quests ad nauseam isn't it?

Tougher enemies brings the challenge back. Tougher enemies increases the quality of loot.

That's the ongoing point of the game: better loot. Eventually your character's base stats will be maxed and you can only improve with better mods and weapons.

Re: Borderlands

Is there going to be any deal for this game in the next few weeks?

I guess right now I'm looking to pay around $30 for it.

Re: Borderlands

Your best bet is probably TRU this week (B2G $20 off) or Amazon (same deal) if it is a valid selection.

Re: Borderlands

I think it'll be $35 at BB on Black Friday. Hopefully Amazon will match that.

Re: Borderlands

I just finished a playthrough as a Siren. I think I was level 35 or so. Alot of fun, but I don't see me picking this up and playing it again for awhile.

Re: Borderlands

Just started playing and the first boss guy kicked my butt. Going try again but this time I'm going to use kindness and candy instead guns and threats.

If the boss is more than a level above you for the most part he will wipe the floor with your ass

Re: Borderlands

The only problem I have with this game is telling apart the weapons. I think that I have a great weapon and it doesn't do shit compared to some of the weapons others have used while playing online with me.

Re: Borderlands

Yeah, I have trouble determining the type of weapon (have to look at the hat/helmet on the pic) and then determining if one weapon is better than another. But I actually like that, you really have to try them out and see. Is this one that does more damage, better than this one with a faster rate of fire? I've got a couple good ones, a revolver that fires 7 shots at once, and a strong shotgun with 2 or 2.5x zoom.

I actually don't like rocket launchers that much, it seems like you have be right on to hit with them, when I would think the blastback would do damage as well.

The first boss kicked my butt more than once as well, I went and did some optional quests first.

Is the first boss we are referring to, Bone Head? Yeah, he kicked my ass a couple times.

I fought some huge mutant raider in a dome like structure and Sledge. Those were my first bosses if I recall correctly.

Re: Borderlands

Wow the Dome guy being the first boss? I didn't fight him until much later(probably 8 hours in). I found getting through the structure about 10x more difficult than the huge mutant raider, whom I defeated on the first try.

Re: Borderlands

The bosses were tough, but I like a good challenge. It's good to feel like a badass but still know you can be killed. Second wind saved my ass plenty of times.

The one that was a pain was the Bishop or Baron or whatever his name was. The one on the trash heap is the one I'm referring to. The Rakk Hive was hard as well as the last boss but I had people helping me kill them.

Re: Borderlands

So while this is active I have a problem/question.

I just did the Scavenger: Revolver mission and cannot for the life of me find the last part(barrel?). I'm standing directly on the spot on the map where it says it is but I've spent probably 40 minutes looking for it. Is it glitched? Does anyone even remember which mission I'm referring to?

I have done the exact same thing and it was a no go. The spot you are standing is on top of like a little hut isn't it?

I still haven't found that last piece.

Re: Borderlands

That's the spot. Glad I'm not losing my mind. Guess I won't waste anymore time on it either.

i like how his camp is right outside your exit from fyrestone. if you are just wandering about exploring at level 2 or 3 and roam back there you are in for quite the surprise.

Spoiler:
If it's the mission I'm thinking about, then I think I can help you guys out. I had the same problem and it took me at least 20 minutes to find it. Ignore the map, it's completely wrong.

You need to walk away from the covered area and towards the edge of the cliff overlooking the plains. There's something on the cliff... (I think it's the front of an old, destroyed car). If you look in that car (or whatever it is) you should see the missing piece.

I hope I'm describing the correct mission. If not, let me know.

Re: Borderlands

All those scavenger missions only have a central point marked on the map. It's the one quest type that doesn't do all the work for you.
