Re: Borderlands
If they do increase the level cap, they damn well better retro-act it because I'm easily level 57 or so by now ;)
|
Re: Borderlands
If there is one thing that would make Borderlands even better, it would be Zombies. I can't wait for the DLC to be released.
|
Re: Borderlands
I wonder what levels the DLC will be?

Re: Borderlands
I'm thrilled that they're releasing DLC, but would it be too much to ask for them to fix the audio problems associated with using optical cables on the PS3 (among the other known bugs)? I'm now at the point where I've switched my sound over to my HDMI cable b/c it got to where the stuttering was unbearable; which means no more surround sound for me (no HDMI connections on my 5 year old receiver).
I'm just a little annoyed that they're releasing DLC before fixing some of the major problems. I'm sure they're working on patching up the problems (at least they'd better be), but I can't help but think we might already have a patch if they had spent a little more time focusing on the problems and a little less time on the DLC. |
Re: Borderlands
One of the achievments is for stomping on an enemys head, is there only certain characters that can do that? I'm the hunter right now. .

It is easiest with new low level character. You shoot and damage a skag outside of the main town so it is really weak. Then you jump on its head and kill it. |
Re: Borderlands
I got it by just pounding a skag down to about 25% right outside of Fyrestone, then jumping around randomly. I was easily level 10, at least, so it can be done, but definitely easier earlier on. It did take a number of jumps. I did it as Rolando.

Re: Borderlands
ok cool, I will give that a shot, didn't know if a certain character could do a foot stomp ;)

Re: Borderlands
I did the head stomp thing at a relatively high level, since I could spend ten minutes jumping around a bunch of skags without worrying that they'd kill me.

Re: Borderlands
Trying for the challenges is a lot of fun, especially when you're still getting rewarded with XP. Some of them involve crazy high numbers though, mainly the kill ones.
If the devs had wanted to be real bastards, they could have made "Complete all challenges" an achievement. Most game publishers would have done that, actually. |
Re: Borderlands
If everything the say in this preview is true regarding depth of content, the upcoming DLC package looks to be a great value for just $10. Should be enough to get new characters close to level 40 on one playthrough!

Re: Borderlands
Finally finished my first runthrough! Can't wait to start on play #2. I hear it's pretty damn fun.
I'm super excited for the DLC! (It's like they mixed in Dead Space with my Borderlands. And I would imagine that tastes great.) |

I'm at level 45 on playthrough 2 now, and I'm wondering if I should just wait for this so that I'll earn XP during the DLC quests. Or I suppose I could work on a new character with the DLC, since I've been disappointed through most of the game that I went with the Soldier character rather than the Siren or Hunter. And is it just me, or in that preview does Dr. Ned look just like Dr. Zed but with a giant fake-looking mustache? :) |
Re: Borderlands
I think that's part of the joke.
After playthrough 2 the names change again. One of the midgets is now "Apeshit Stunted Psycho" or something. |
Re: Borderlands
I stopped my second play through because of Dragon Age, and after that Call of Duty...but I still in the back of my mind can't wait to go back to it, and the DLC will be a perfect reason to do so.
|
Re: Borderlands
I finished my first playthrough and shelved this in favor of Dragon Age and Ghostbusters. But I will definitely be coming back to it at some point for additional playthroughs. I just need to figure out if my next playthrough should be a second playthrough with my soldier or a first playthrough with one of the other character types.

Re: Borderlands
It's good you guys have a date associated with picking it back up. I've said numerous times, that the 2nd playthrough really breathes new life into the game. You won't be disappointed.
Playing co-op is even better. Maybe you two should plan to do playthrough 2 together? |

We'll be back in two and two!

Re: Borderlands
So everyone's waiting on the DLC? No one on my friends list is still playing Borderlands, most folks have moved onto either MW2 or Dragon Age. After buying 3 games in BB's B2G1, I can't afford another game yet, plus I haven't even opened Brutal Legend. Although I am interested in Dragon Age.
The game definitely ramps up with multiplayer. I've got a single player character, Soldier, level 22, and a local co-op player, Hunter, level 16 or so, and we're definitely having a lot more challenge in the co-op game. More and tougher baddies. |
Re: Borderlands
I played it non-stop for 2 weeks, unlocked all the achievements and almost finish the 2nd playthrough. So I moved on as well. Maybe I will pick it up again when the DLC comes out, but probably not.
