Re: Something to tide you over until Kingdom Hearts III?

My Wii hasn't been this excited since MP3. Or excited at all.

Re: Something to tide you over until Kingdom Hearts III?

Can we get a thread title change now that the game (and its title) is officially revealed?

Something like "Warren Spector and Disney team up for Epic Mickey, Wii Exclusive (Date TBA)." I guess.

I was sort of hoping that "Epic Mickey" was just a working title. It's pretty generic. The art looks excellent, though.

That was my thought too, but it's still a year away, it could still be a temporary title.

The logo is awesomely old school though.

I have all three systems, but I don't see why wanting a game to look the best it possibly can is wrong. Why bother with HD graphics and 5.1 surround when you can have 2001 graphical standard and Dolby Pro Logic!

Re: Epic Mickey Wii / Fall 2010

The game is being designed around the Wii remote, that's why.

It's the only logical conclusion.

It wouldn't matter, people would whine about it either way.

Personally, I feel it should be a PC exclusive. There's no reason to be stuck with 2005 technology when you have 2010 technology waiting to make this game look the best it can be. It's the only way the concept art can be properly realized.

Re: Epic Mickey Wii / Fall 2010

I'm glad it's not PC only because then it would be an automatic pass for me. I don't even own my own PC and my work's laptop isn't really suitable for next-gen gaming. It's barely suitable for last-gen coding.

Why are you so personally offended when anyone on this board wants the best looking & sounding game possible? Based on the concept art the game could have some kick ass set pieces, but I'm not holding my breath.

As for Wiimote functionality you can probably count on one hand how many games(non mini-game collections) could only be done with the Wii controller.

I'm ok with this. The Wii needs these games, as long as it truly only could be done with this interface.

I just find it funny that people here always bitch about theirs Wiis collecting dust and then when it gets a great looking exclusive, they bitch that it's not on the Xbox.

Re: Epic Mickey Wii / Fall 2010

There are some gorgeous looking games on the Wii. Look at Super Mario Galaxy or Super Smash Brothers Brawl. Would the added graphical capabilities of the 360 or the PS3 really improve anything given the nature of those games, the cahracters, and the setting?

Even a game like Twilight Princess or Metroid Prime 3 -- which you probably could improve by moving it to a higher-powered system -- still looks plenty gorgeous.

Re: Epic Mickey Wii / Fall 2010

I don't have a Wii yet, but I'll snag one to play Mario Galaxy and this (assuming this game warrants it). But the teaser images are pretty cool.

And yet, gameplay wise, it could have been done last-gen.
