scribblenauts anyone?
Ok this game is coming out next week and I have to say I'm very very excited! To me, it's the coolest thing I have seen game-wise in a long time. Anyone else picking this up?

I was looking forward to it until I read that link. Not sure how much enjoyment I'll get out of that kind of trial-and-error gameplay. Now I'm thinking I'll wait for some reviews to pop up.

I don't know, to me that's the fun of it! Not necessarily the amount of attempts but the varied thought processes. Why not go for net right away with the bees? Each persons gaming experience is going to be different and I think that's great. Your gameplay will be as fun as you can be. Don't worry, I'll be back to post my experiences.

Re: scribblenauts anyone?
As I posted in the DS thread, my one concern is that the game is a little counter-intuitive in the sense that to solve puzzles effectively (the de-facto object of the game), you can whip out the super-powered items (like God + Shotgun) over and over, but the more rewarding (at least mentally) way to play is to try different off-the-wall things. I wish there could have been a way to reward your play for being creative rather than just time based, since that runs counter to the game's best strengths.

I'm really looking forward to it.
I will say this though, I think it'll either end up as a legit candidate for GOTY or it'll end up being one of the biggest disappointments in gaming history.
I thought there was some sort of reward system in place for "style". Is there not?

CAG tells me $29, and that the GC offer is only valid on Tuesday.
Looks like I'll probably be cancelling my GS pre-order, as I don't see the rooster hat being worth $15. I'd wear it to work a few times, and then it'd go in the closet forever.

sweet TRU is just handing GC's. I get Mario and Luigi on Sunday, use that $10 towards Scribblenauts then use that $15 towards the new HALO and that one comes with a $20 GC.

The game is awesome and I hate handhelds. I played it last week in Vegas and have been eagerly awaiting next week, and telling customers to reserve a copy!

I'll be using my $25 GC from Wii Sports Resort on Scribblenauts and like you turn around and use that $15 on ODST. I might use that $20 from ODST on Lego Rock Band.
TRU is easily becoming the retailer of the year.

Mike, I'm not sure if that'll work. I have a $30 gc from Batman and I'm expecting the computer to shut me down for trying to buy a $15 game and a $15 gift card with a $30 gift card.
Even considered getting the new M&L game on Sunday and carrying the gcs forward, but even that will end up being less than my $30 on actual product.

Yeah, I'm thinking the same. I thought the hat would be a funny collectible, but getting half the price of the game back is a much better deal. I can use my Wii Sports Resort giftcard to buy it and have another card for something else.

I don't have a DS, but this game is making me want one. Are there many puzzle-based games for the DS? That's the only thing I'm missing owning only a PS3.

Professor Layton, Puzzle Quest... Hell, there are tons of puzzle games that use the touch screen, much like there are tons on the wii
