Anyone try out the two new XBLA games this morning? I'm curious on how Afterburner turned out. It might be a cool Arcade game to have, but I'm worried that it'll just play like a very basic, dumbed-down Ace Combat game.

I hate the lag between games being announced for XBLA and them coming out. They announced Plants v Zombies last July, but it's still not out yet. It's on everything else, but not the arcade. The only reason I haven't bought it yet, is because I want to play it on my couch. Plus, playing things on my iPod for too long makes my hand cramp up.

Also, where in the hell is Fez?

Maybe they're both being saved for this years summer of arcade?

And Lead & Gold.

Wow, I just looked at some video of Lead and Gold (I wasn't really up on it before), and that game looks awesome! I hope it plays as good as it looks, and that there is a community built around it that can sustain it.

It's silly, but I've just got over the barrier of being cool with downloadable games, so now it's like I'm looking for shit to buy.

Lovely, hope that doesn't mean that Game Room dies a quick death before it can even barely get off the ground.

I wonder what that really means. What role did/does Krome play in Game Room? Are they just responsible for the shell and the emulators or are they the ones pursuing the ROMs and the licensing? Or both?

Is it because of the horrible launch issues and the delay of new content for a full month? What sort of staff were let go? QA seems reasonable at this point.

I think they were expecting the license to do Force Unleashed 2. They didn't get it, and therefore people had to go. Sucks.

Hey, I get it : Zombie Island of Dr Ned last week, Dead Samurai this week, Zombie Apocalypse next, it's their 30 Days Of The Undead promo. Cute.

So, on a completely unrelated note, Major Nelson keeps saying that Game Room gets updated on the 28th (Wed) and the XBLA game this week, Tecmo Bowl, comes out the 29th (Thurs). He said this in his blog post last week as well as his podcast last night. I still believe he's got these reversed or, at the very least, they're all coming out on Wednesday.

Anyway, we have no reason to believe XBLA is now, magically, Thursday and I can't see any reason to tie Tecmo Bowl into some other outside event (like the NFL Draft) to justify a delay. Plus, Game Room updates were always rumored to be Thursday or Friday before.

Sorry, I know it doesn't matter at all, but it really stands out to me as inconsistent and there's nothing else to really talk about. And I'm tempering my Night Stalker / Pitfall expectations for Wednesday as reported.

Anyone recommend, or not recommend, the Dead Samurai game? I'm downloading the demo.
