I remember that Snoopy trailer from a couple of years ago. Completely forgot about this game. A certain purchase at 800, perhaps a 1200 purchase as well depending on the demo.

Crimson skies was one of my favorites on the original Xbox. This should be really good.

Looks like the 74139/NBA text message deal for XBLA points might be dead. :( I haven't gotten a response text in the last two days and the people at CAG are reporting similar results. Oh well, at least I won once and got SSFIIHD for two bucks out of it.

I am as well. There was a Snoopy flying game on the PS2 and PSP and it was surprisingly good. This looks even better.

I'm still texting everyday. When I won on wednesday, the text said more prizes next week. So I'm still hoping!

Any good trivia games, particularly that would be good for parties?

Not sure on XBL, however the first 2 Scene It games that were 360 exclusives are awesome with the big button controllers.

The 3rd non exclusive Scene It generally got bad reviews, as it regressed, not having Avatar support and other features.

Maybe Wits and Wagers, which is about half trivia and half betting on people's answers.

I second the first two Scene Its, obviously BOS has "more" than LCA.
Encleverment Experiment isnt mainly trivia, its lots of brainteaser type puzzles as well.

Re: XBLA Thread Part 400 - Pinata's got a brown nose

Wits and Wagers on the Xbox was an abomination compared to the original board game. Do yourself a favor and get the board game for party stuff - it is actually open-ended trivia with some neat betting on the intelligence and specialty knowledge of your friends (who you presumably know). The XBLA version is all multiple choice and the betting is often somewhat random since you don't know the people online (or the AI) well enough to have a good idea of their knowledge base.

It is one of the only board games on XBLA i didn't buy... it was that bad.

Also, does anyone else have the problem of not really seeing the B&W vector games well against a color backdrop of the Game Room? I thought Asteroids was especially hard to see in the demo I tried.

You can change the backdrop to one of 3 modes. Cabinet is the correct one for any and all arcade games.

Thanks...Scene It is definitely one I'll check out, forgot all about that game. And yeah, I'd prefer the actual board games to avoid MC questions I guess, so I suppose games like Scene It that have video and stuff are the main thing I'd be interested in something through Xbox, and I imagine not many of those are on XBLA.

So, does anyone here have Serious Sam? Corvin and I are planning to do a run through co-op sometime and I'm curious if there's anyone else that wants to be in.

Re: XBLA Thread Part 400 - Pinata's got a brown nose

Correct me if I'm wrong here, but it looks like there's still been no announcement about any 4/7 new content. I wonder if they think this week's sale is in lieu of any new games.

pinata242 04-05-10 06:06 PM

Re: XBLA Thread Part 400 - Pinata's got a brown nose

I read on x360a today that apparently it was previously announced that this sale was, in fact, in lieu of a new game. All the same to me since I rarely buy new games anymore anyway. The Final Fight / Magic Sword combo may break that, though. It's suppossed to be this month.

Final Fight/Magic Sword is due to hit on 4/14
Afterburner Climax is 4/21

Isn't that DS game Heroes of Might and Magic coming sometime soon?

Right on, I forgot about the Afterburner announcement

Wasn't the Maw already on sale a couple months ago because that's when I got it. Let's see some fresh material.

Thanks for the post though.

 I hope that's not right.

At least we get our monthly Maw discount for the perennial fence-sitters out there. -rolleyes-

Interesting to see Halo 3 on there. I wonder if Bungie had to go back in and recode it for a digital release.

I would have been all over it 6 months ago, but there are too many factors working against it now:
1. Reach - is right around the corner
2. ODST exclusive maps - sure they are on the marketplace now, but I don't want to double dip on a $10 map pack as well as double dipping on the game
3. MW2 - most friends have moved on from Halo at this point

Re: XBLA Thread Part 400 - Pinata's got a brown nose

It seems odd to reduce that Borderlands pack when they are releasing a disc this week, it's like they don't want the disc to sell.
