Played through Toy Soldiers for about a half hour and am liking it. Flying is rough at first, but once you get the hang of it, it's a blast.

Enjoyed the Toy Soldiers demo as well, though I didn't play too much. I'll probably pick it up in the near future.

Was going to give Toy Soldiers a little more time tonight after Borderlands and ended up playing for about an hour:lol: If Scrap Metal is even close to this, the 400 pts and extra month of Gold will be a nice bonus.

FYI....The 'final' level of Toy Soldiers is a bitch. Attempted 3 tries last night and still failed. I will not be broken though. I will destroy it!

Are you playing on "Medium"? I was thinking of trying it on easy.

And I read a review that suggested that there is a certain tactic required for the final boss and if it doesn't occur to you, there's no way to beat it.

Hell no! I'm on Casual. All the time. Wanted to start there and I'll move up once I feel comfortable or need a challenge.

I think I know what I need to do on the final boss. I was close last night but screwed the pooch at the last moment. Didn't want to sit through it again then. I'll have to see if I'm on the right track next time.

The Toy Soldiers demo was pretty fun. I just have enough of my gaming docket that a $15 purchase right now seems like a bad idea. I will definitely buy it at some point, though.

Yeah, what was I thinking? Medium? I should have known better!

Anyway, here's what Destructiod said in their review:

The last boss, which requires intensely particular preparation that a first-time player couldn't predict, is an especial drag.

And therein is the problem. A few of the levels are trial and error, where you really don't know the best way to defend till you see the pattern. On that level you have to sit through 30 minutes of defending waves to do trial and error on how to handle the boss. :(

David Jaffe Thinks Sony Should Sue Microsoft for Scrap Metal

God of War creator David Jaffe is no stranger to litigation, and according to his latest blog post, the outspoken designer thinks Sony should be more willing to go to bat for their intellectual property. Specifically, he believes Microsoft's upcoming Scrap Metal for Xbox Live Arcade sounds a little too much like Twisted Metal -- a series Jaffe himself helped establish.

What's funny is that last week, I commented that the game looks like a rip off of PSN's Calling All Cars, a game designed by.....David Jaffe.

In other news, David Jaffe is desperately seeking attention.

Exactly, which is why when I read the headline I figured that was going to be his argument. I guess you probably need to name drop the game that people are actually aware of existing though so he just went with Twisted Metal.

Considering Jaffe ripped Twisted Metal off of the old Steve Jackson pen-and-paper game Car Wars, he ought to be careful throwing the idea of lawsuits around.

ETA: I see now Jaffe is just refering to the title, not the concept. In that case, I think the creators of the Metal gear franchise ought to sue him for Twisted Metal.

:) I think the game is extremely well done. Working my way through Campaign+ at the moment and I love the switch up they did on those levels too. Stuff gets tough to see in the dark, but it's a neat change IMO.

It's pretty great. I tried to hold out, but it ended up being my first XBLA purchase since Shadow Complex last August (excluding Chime, which was a cheap, charity title, albeit a good one). It's so much fun, it's easy to forget it's a tower defense game. Has anyone tried the multiplayer? How is it?

How cool would it have been if you could have played this like a team deathmatch with different players manning different guns and planes? It makes me sad thinking about it, because if this had turned into "Battlefield 1917", it would have been AMAZING!

I will be jumping on the Fallout 3 DLC. Are all 5 of them worth getting?

IMO it goes like this:

Broken Steel - Point Lookout - The Pitt - Mothership Zeta - Operation: Anchorage

They're probably all "worth it" for that price, but the first 3 I listed are by far the best experiences and no question for even 800 points.

That is correct. It does not include the bonus adventures and stuff. Considering I got my Fable Platinum Hits (with the bonus stuff) off ebay for $7, I'd recommend that route. I even ended up with a really scratched up disc, but since you can install it to your drive, it was no sweat.

Re: XBLA Thread Part 400 - Pinata's got a brown nose

Thanks, I still have the original, but never played the Lost Chapters and was hoping to get in on that, oh well, I'll grab the disc at some point.
