Hey Major Nelson, how about a good deal of the week that we didn't see during the end-of-the-year promo? And no, discounting the avatar COG uniform by 33% does not count.

It looks like they decided not to notify anyone for the EA promo. I found a link on microsoft's site that lets you see your point history and they added my 800 points on the 23rd! I guess I should keep track of how many points I have.

Re: XBLA Thread Part 400 - Pinata's got a brown nose
where, online, can the cheapest 12-month Gold card be had? thanks in advance.

Re: XBLA Thread Part 400 - Pinata's got a brown nose
It's 39.96 now at Amazon. Sometimes it drops lower, like $35, but this seems to be the best now.

Re: XBLA Thread Part 400 - Pinata's got a brown nose
So IGN and Team Xbox have similar reviews on Scrap Metal up now (7.5 and 7.7 respectively). Both site poor, unintuitive controls which will be a problem in a difficult racer. Both mention the game is probably overpriced. Now I know why they have that promo going on -- everyone wants Toy Soldiers and Perfect Dark HD; this is the tough sell (the Turtles In Time of the Block Party, if you will). Not sure I even want it at 800 points net, but I guess I have the whole month to decide. Looking forward to checking out the demo tomorrow morning if I have time. Curious what others here will think of the demo.

I will be getting Perfect Dark and I already picked up Toy Soldiers, but I have little interest in Scrap Metal. Might download the demo if I'm bored, but probably not a purchase. My oldest daughter (11) is really liking Toy Soldiers. Kind of surprising. |

Re: XBLA Thread Part 400 - Pinata's got a brown nose
From Joystiq today. Sounds VERY cool:
Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light launching this summer for $15 http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.c...-sm-031010.jpg It may not have "Tomb Raider" in the title, but Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light -- scheduled to launch on Xbox Live Arcade, PlayStation Network and PC this summer -- will mark the leading lady's return to a crumbling underworld and its unreasonably hostile caretakers. And while the game's aesthetics are unmistakably consistent with previous games, its unique format draws inspiration from a wider range of sources, including last year's polished XBLA hit, Shadow Complex. Like Shadow Complex, the game will launch for $15, offering approximately six hours of two-player co-operative action and puzzle-solving (though your pace may vary). According to developer Crystal Dynamics, Lara Croft & The Guardian of Light will be cognizant of the bar set by other high-production games in the download space, while offering a unique interpretation of the well-established Tomb Raider franchise. Catch Joystiq's impressions of the game and an interview with Crystal Dynamics later this week. |

Don't laugh! They're engaging a new paradigm that will shift the heuristic into a new idea-space by leveraging synergies!

Re: XBLA Thread Part 400 - Pinata's got a brown nose
No, it's funny because they talk about Shadow Complex and then other games that have "raised the bar".

I thought it was funny that they phrased it "cognizant of the bar."
