I've noticed that the game hasn't been freezing up at all within the past week or so, but I had 6 douchebags in a row quit on me yesterday, including one that was already on my 'avoid this player' list, lol.

Anybody still playing this? I am using it to fill up the dead time between Batman/Summer of Arcade and Beatles.

Anybody want to help me knock out the 10 online wins fast? I can return the favor if you need.

Re: Magic: Duels of the Planeswalkers (Official Thread)

I've been thinking about picking this game up. Enjoyed the demo. Thought about waiting to see if/when DLC would come. (I wish XBLA did package deals like PSN does.)

But, saw today that Duel the Dragon is the upcoming DLC. Talked about here: http://www.joystiq.com/2009/09/06/pa...e-planeswalke/

And what's this Garruk Wildspeaker card?

Re: Magic: Duels of the Planeswalkers (Official Thread)

Just did some research on the Garruk Wildspeaker card, checked ebay prices. The promo and resale of it essentially pays for the game right there (and depending on the DLC price, might even pay for that, too.)

I may be out of the loop, but any talk about this coming to ps3? Or since I'm in a 360 thread is my devil system going to never have it?

Re: Magic: Duels of the Planeswalkers (Official Thread)

I've been working my way to 100%. I'm currently at 98% with only a couple cards left to unlock in the B/R/G deck.

So I was playing against the computer with the B/G deck last night and I actually had it forfeit on me

We got to a point where I had a Dragon Roost and could just pump out a 5/5 flying creature every turn, plus several smaller 1/1 and 2/2 creatures down there. The computer lost all it's creatures in an ill-fated move.

Anyway, I noticed it would draw a card and play nothing. It only had like 6 land played, so I know it had plenty of options for playing at least something. Eventually its hand filled up and it began discarding. I just let it play down to an empty library and cast everything I could. Ended up hitting him for 84 damage at the end.

It did play one card in the middle of all it's folding. It removed my Dragon Roost with a Neutralize card to stop the fun

Has anyone had that happen before?

Re: Magic: Duels of the Planeswalkers (Official Thread)

Nothing like that against the computer, but I played a white deck against someone with a blue deck and it was an unbelievable game...I was watching my library because he had a card out that made me shed 2 cards every time I played a spell. No one could get enough damage going thanks to my Pacifism cards and his counters. Eventually, I was down to 2 cards in my library and he had 5, then he played a draw X cards spell and drew 4 cards. I took my turn, he took his, I took mine (which left me zero cards in my library), and he lost because he didn't have a card to draw. After the game he sent a message saying he forgot about running out of cards, lol.

Re: Magic: Duels of the Planeswalkers (Official Thread)

Need more points! I've got < 3000 and on 10/20 I have to buy Abbey Road and most of a Queen 10-pack for Rock Band games.

Any new achievements with these challenges?

I'm am in as well, though I still miss the ability to build my own deck, though I can understand why it is not included.

Damn I haven't 100% the original yet but will shell out the 400 for it.

If you can't build your own deck, you should at least be able to remove any cards that you want to remove, not just the 'bonus cards'.

Earn Puzzling Master and complete all Duel the Dragon expansion challenges.

Dragon Slayer (20)

Re: Magic: Duels of the Planeswalkers (Official Thread)

Any one got any hints for the last challenge (the one where you don't finish it on your turn)?

I didn't do the new challenges yet because I'm trying to get all the new decks completed first, but from the sound of it, use the blue/white deck and make his deck disappear, then when he has no cards to draw (his turn), you win. I won 4-5 games like that in the campaign with that deck, it's a buzz-saw. There are two cards that eliminate half the deck, and 3 or 4 cards that remove two from the deck for every spell he casts.

Re: Magic: Duels of the Planeswalkers (Official Thread)

FYI: The achievements are broken, in the sense they will show up on your list, but don't add to the point total for the game or your total overall.

EDIT:

Well worth the 400pts though, even if the challenges are a breeze and the campaign can be tackled in less than 45 minutes.
