Prototype: What's the word?
I've not seen a single review or hands on impression of this game. The videos make it look cool as hell but why in the world is there no demo or review yet??
Anybody have a clue about the quality of this game?

For me, the word is "rental". Not a dig against the game, I am just drowning in my backlog right now and can't afford another console game at the moment.

The lack of current buzz is a little odd, but that may be due to the barrage of fairly high profile releases in the last month or so. The demo footage looked pretty cool.

Re: Prototype: What's the word?
They had a good discussion about it on ListenUP last week.
Apparently, despite similar themes, it has little in common with inFAMOUS in terms of gameplay. Where inFAMOUS plays like a platformer, Prototype has you largely "along for the ride".
I had the impression that Garnett Lee liked it, based on what he said.

TRU is giving you a $20 gift card just to buy it next week. If those don't expire and you can hang on to it until October for the B2G1, it might be worth looking into.
Worst case you can probably turn around and sell for the $40 you're out.

Well, the game has done the impossible... allowed the creation of a Gamestop commercial I didn't hate. Might check it out with the TRU giftcard deal... wait, this is an activision game? Maybe I'll wait a month for the price drop.

pro⋅to⋅type /ˈproʊtəˌtaɪp/ Show Spelled Pronunciation [proh-tuh-tahyp] Show IPA noun, verb -typed, -typ⋅ing.
–noun
1. the original or model on which something is based or formed.
2. someone or something that serves to illustrate the typical qualities of a class; model; exemplar: She is the prototype of a student activist.
3. something analogous to another thing of a later period: a Renaissance prototype of our modern public housing.
4. Biology. an archetype; a primitive form regarded as the basis of a group.
I don't know, uncomfortably violent seems like a blessing in some ways, at least it'd be memorable to an extent.

Re: Prototype: What's the word?
I can't wait, I am hoping this will succeed where Infamous crashed & burned. I picked up the figure and hints tube from Gamestop last night, the figure is pretty cool and is blister packed. If this is even 1/10th as cool as the previews look, it will be sick.
