Ok, I'm a serious fan of DS and have it on both my PS3 & 360. I saw the "prequel" trailer from E3 and wanna know what gives with a Wii only entry? Are the other consoles to be left w/out here?

It is an on-rails shooter style Dead Space on the Wii. I would think a sequel for the 360/PS3 will come eventually.

Oh... don't you think the on-rails element would take away from the game? The free roaming in the current game is one of the main features I liked about it. In any event I'll be holding out for the PS3/360 sequel, whenever that drops.

They're just providing a different type of experience. Wii/360 and Wii/PS3 owners may pick up both games but otherwise, I think it's slanted more towards the typical user with simpler controls etc. Arguably, a port of the original to Wii would have had to sacrifice features so this is the better way to go.

This is one of the few games that I am actually looking forward to for the Wii. All the previews I had read look pretty good so far.

If it's anything like Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles I unfortunately have to agree. I love the RE universe, especially the Raccoon City storyline, but the on-rails gameplay in that game just didn't engage me in any way. It honestly felt like a chore to play through.

how? they ported re4 to wii perfectly, dead space could have righteously so been ported without problems at almost no sacrifice

It would only sacrifice graphics.

RE4 was from a previous generation. Every Wii game that is ported from 360/PS3 is going to have to sacrifice something due to the Wii's graphical limitations, not to mention other aspects. Look at Dead Rising. I'm glad to see the Wii getting more 'mature' games though so I welcome it.
