If Nickelback had songs that were on the radio all the time when I was a kid, I'd probably want them too. But I've grown up and moved past the radio.

More David Bowie. We need Space Oddity, Jean Genie, Ziggy Stardust, Diamond Dogs, Rebel Rebel, Golden Years, Scary Monsters, and China Girl at the very least.

 Considering how amazing Moonage Daydream and Suffragette City sound in the game, we need the rest of the ZS album. Desperately.

Well, I think Tool is a huge omission from the Rock Band catalogue. I'm not a Bowie fan, but I'd be up for more songs. I'd also like to see Kiss and Queen.

I appreciate the 90's selection. But I could certainly do without 80's bands like Cars or Duran Duran. There are a lot of better bands out there. If Rock Band could get The Beatles, why not U2? why not Paradise City? why not Smells Like Teen Spirit?

I bought all the Cars, and a few DD, and would buy Beatles, U2, Nirvana as well. I would buy Candy-O (full album as well)...The more the merrier...

There DEFINITELY needs to be more Bowie. "Station to Station " full album DLC please.

Obviously the big ones are needed: Floyd, Zeppelin, etc. The Who are in Rock Band, The Beatles got their own thing, but man oh man if they could do a Rock Band: Pink Floyd, with everything from Piper through Momentary Lapse, with full psychedelic environments, Gerald Scarfe animation, and what-not, I'd poop out my last 37 Peking Duck dinners.

Sorry. :(

So I finally fixed one of my GH controllers yesterday (the Les Paul) because I got sick of getting beat down in the score duels thanks to intermittent notes getting dropped and to test out the controller I attempted the endless setlist. I got 50 songs in when I had to stop and change a poopy diaper but I got to thinking -

I don't think I can 5 star visions without practicing first. Now if I have a feeling I'm not going to get it in the middle of a run, can I fail out intentionally and still get the 420/420 stars if I 5 star it in a subsequent run? I know I lose the bladder of steel achievement, but don't think I'll ever be able to sit down and make through all 84 songs anyway.

Edited to add, no I wasn't changing my own diaper, it was my kid's - although I think if I wore one I'd be able to get the bladder of steel achievement

The short answer is yes.

I love that it only took like 5 posts for the "on-disc" part to get dropped from the lists of requests

I like those achievements! I'm trying to find a way to get the track pack for cheap or via a rental, but haven't had any such luck just yet.

Buying it and trading it in the next day probably isn't going to net too much at some place like GameStop.

Thanks for answering so quickly.

Going back a few pages about the upcoming Green Day, I'm so happy that they're finally in it but I just haven't really found anything to like in their new album. For a punk band, what's with all the ballady piano? The new album just seems too derivative of themselves which wouldn't be a bad thing if it had the energy of American Idiot. I don't think I'll be buying the song pack.

Re: Rock Band: Official Thread

I agree that it's refreshing to see achievements that aren't just 100% Expert on V/G/B/D. Like that they're also starting to incorporate multi-player even more.

On guitar, there's plenty of time during that AC/DC song to run to the bathroom without pausing.

Green Day was never a punk bad. They are a Power Pop trio with punk/hard rock influences. Nothing wrong with that, of course, as I'm a big fan, but their work was really more about the catchy hooks and sing-a-long anthemic choruses.

Those achievements suck!

The multiplayer achievements for track packs are terrible. You need to actually have 4 people in your house to get them :(

Oh well, I hate country anyways so now I don't need to play it for points :)

pinata242 06-15-09 01:15 PM

Re: Rock Band: Official Thread

That's a good point. I guess it's not worth the effort to upgrade the Track Pack engine with a dumbed-down RB2 version for that market. The idea is that the people who need the disc probably don't play online anyway. Those that do (like us) merely want these for the deal on a pack of songs.

Three people if someone doubles up. :)

I had completely forgotten about these running off the RB1 engine. I hardly ever play full-band online anyways though. Mainly because every time I go on, 95% of my DLC is grayed out, and all they have are "All the Small Things". A ton of people don't even have the "Free 20" either.
