I believe it's a whole new game, so you'd have to start over. At least that's how it was for previous GOTY or complete sets (Arkham Asylum, Lego SW Complete Saga, etc).

Re: Fallout New Vegas Announced

My save carried over from the old Fallout 3 GOTY edition. That edition was basically the normal game disc with a 2nd disc of the DLC if I remember correctly. You just saved the 2nd disc dlc to your harddrive. That was for the Xbox version though. Not sure if it is different on the PS3.

Your save will carry over to the GOTY version.

Skyrim for now. That is an easy one. Then just pick up this new edition of Vegas when it comes out.

Maybe it's just for achivements then.

ps3 version of FO:NV is still very buggy, and doubtful we will see any more patches. it got progressivley worse after the DLC patches. my game is unplayable, constant lock-ups and framerate drops.

The achievements also aren't separate, and they weren't for Fallout 3 or Oblivion GOTY editions either. I sort of wish they were, because it'd give me an added incentive and motivation to play through the whole thing again.

Arkham Asylum's save files and achievements were separate, and a few other games have been as well, but Bethesda releases don't work that way.

need a little help:

i am in Novac doing the mission for Booth. I am supposed to find out who is responsible for his wife's kidnapping. I think I have talked to everyone in town, but I still don't know who it is. hint?

thanks

Re: Fallout New Vegas Announced

I don't think you can find out from just talking to people. You have to find evidence. Your quest marker should point you to the correct spot.

I have 30 hours in. I am having a blast, this is such a fantastic game. I joined the Brotherhood of Steel, just because I liked the cool power armor :D. Boy, it was a pain though. I got so frustrated trying to find the Hepa Filters in Vault 22. I finally had to go to Fallout wiki to tell me where to go. I almost screwed up joining the brotherhood on Black Mountain. I didn't kill or pickpocket Tabitha, so I didn't have the key for the control room. luckily i had a save before and I was able to chase Tabitha down and waste her. I was like "whew!"

How far am I through the main quest?

Spoiler:
i just got rid of the guy in the computer at Lucky 38 and Yes man has taken control of the computer. I just arrived at the hoover dam to fight off the legion and destroy some generators

Re: Fallout New Vegas Announced

You're basically at the end. I think there might be one more stopping point, so you can dick around before you start the final mission. But I may be confusing it with one of the other paths to finish.

Right at the end.
Spoiler:
IIRC, I think you're passed the point of no return if you're fighting the Legion at Hoover Dam.

Spoiler:
yes, i just got a big screen message that said "Point of No Return". Wow I didn't know I was at the end, i figured I was only about 50%. So by it saying Point of No Return, that means the credits will roll and I will have to start a new character if I want to play some more?

I think I am in the mood to just start a new character. I will try to do everything with the next guy since I halfway know what I am doing. I don't really want to purchase the DLC right now. A new character doing everything should hold me over until I get Skyrim on xmas day. This is kind of embarrassing, but I still don't really have a clue what effects radiation poisoning or addiction have on my character. I don't notice a difference? I am a moron, I know. :)

You are pretty much near the end in regards to the main quest
