Also, it looks like next week's Gun Runners' Arsenal will add achievements, which might be an extra enticement for some who aren't normally interested in what's essentially non-story DLC. Achievements haven't been confirmed yet, but the PS3 trophies have been, so it seems a near certainty.

I played Lonesome Road for a couple hours yesterday and like it so far. The deathclaws hanging around the bridge you have to cross are a challenge, even at level 45.

I'm going to try this today. If I can put Dead Island down.

Re: Fallout New Vegas Announced

I beat it, only took 3-4 hours...probably the shortest of all the DLC's, but I really liked it. The enemies aren't complete pushovers,
Spoiler:
and Ulysses is a formidable end boss.

So I guess my New Vegas adventure is over...counting down the days until Fallout 4.

Don't go back and edit your post or anything.....

I think someone at CAG revealed the end boss as well. Pretty lame if you ask me.

Anyhow, I just started playing, and I got the expected VATS freeze about an hour in. Gotta love it.

Re: Fallout New Vegas Announced

Spoiler:
How does one not realize you're going to fight Ulysses at the end?
Seems very obvious to me, and anyone upset about me "spoiling" this is a mental midget.

Osiris - there's no reason for personal attacks here. People who haven't yet played - or even are considering may not want to know the end boss - so the polite thing to do is exercise caution - and respect for your fellow gamers. Being antagonistic and stubborn about it (see Post 956 for example) doesn't help your case.

The mental midget comment is not necessary. Consider this your free pass - any other attacks veiled that thinly will be dealt with as a blatant attack would be.

I actually thought before I played the game that
Spoiler:
Ulysses was on your side. Of course during the game, it makes more sense that he's evil, but not til the last part does it tell you you're about to fight him.

Oh and I think I put a good 10 hours so far into this. 3-4 hours?

No.

Re: Fallout New Vegas Announced

Who this last add on is really buggy, I can barely play more than 20 minutes it seems and then it freezes...and yea I have played about 3 hours and I am nowhere near the end I don't know how anyone could get done in 3-4.

nickdawgy 09-25-11 08:00 PM

Re: Fallout New Vegas Announced

3-4 hours is probably possible if you skip all the talking (speed read and advance the text), don't do any sidequests, don't explore optional areas, and don't stop playing.

Doesn't sound too fun.

Re: Fallout New Vegas Announced

I was pretty disappointed by The Lonesome Road. The villain had some of the worst dialogue in the game. Seriously, just kept going on and on in circles revealing absolutely nothing.

I did like how the game pretty much threw everything at you. The humans were very hard to kill, the tunnelers were a pain in the ass and then there's the deathclaws. Took me a little while to figure out how to defeat the big boss.

Overall, pretty disappointing. I expected more from something that was hinted about for so long. Also, I don't know if I like that the courier had no past or not. I liked the connection the previous character had to daddy Liam Neeson. Bring on the next game. Honestly, I'm happy I can finally put this one to rest.

Yeah it was okay not great. I still had fun. Loved getting everything to 100 and the extra perks and etc.

I nuked the Legion. I went to the ghoul camp and cleared it out. That armor the boss there wears is cool but it was quite small as an area.

Overall I had fun but it's not OWB.

i picked this up over the weekend for 12 bucks. I wasn't a big fan of FO3, but I thought I would give this game a try. I have put about 3 hours into it, and I am liking it. I kind of have the "OMG this game is huge" overwhelmed feeling, but that was expected. This game seems to be alot more story driven than FO3. However I didn't play FO3 long before I got rid of it.

Question:

I am only a few hours in. I have kind of been playing the "F--- Everyone" role. I am loyal to no one, I will destroy you. Do I need to stop playing like this? Will I hit any road blocks later in the game with everyone hating me?

Eventually you'll need to side with someone, but there are 2 paths that aren't alliances with the groups you're most likely pissing off, I assume the NCR, Legion, etc... One or both of those paths should be open still.

It will make it much more challenging if everyone hates you, plus you close yourself out of lots of quests/exp/rewards by not doing some of the quest lines.

Re: Fallout New Vegas Announced

yes, eventually after you piss somebody off enough, you'll reach the point of no return for that group. You'll know this, because all of sudden you will fail a bunch of quests that are not active yet.

i better play nice a little then. it is fun killing everyone though.

My advice is to try and keep everyone happy till near the end game as possible..eventually you to have to 'choose' between NCR and Caeser..but Keep NCR to the very end..Then you can decide to stick with NCR..or choose your own history :)

Re: Fallout New Vegas Announced

Stupid question; if I start playing the regular version of this game and then pick up the GOTY version sometime next year, will my save files carry over or will I need to start a new save file? This would be on the PS3 (if it makes a difference).

I need to decide if I want to start playing this or if I should just wait until the GOTY is released.
