Gamestop has a deal if you trade in 3 games from a select list, you get this free. People are reporting on CAG that some games can be had for $10-$12 at Target or other stores. Not a bad deal if you have some lying around also.

I bought this game today. Fun so far, but pure bullshit that EA sports does not support Macs on uploading game faces. What a crock of shit.

Re: Fight Night Round 4
I absolutely love it...fantastic upgrade.
My one complaint is with the calendar system in Career Mode...why do I have to sit and watch the days go by in-between...it seems like a monumental waste of time when I think about all the time I spent just waiting for the days to go by when a fight is 80 days away.
Other than that, a part of me is sad the bicep curl training isn't there anymore LOL....nice upgrade of the training, and career mode feels like a real career.

Re: Fight Night Round 4
I'm still not happy with the countering being the ultimate weapon in this game. It makes me reticent to throw a punch in a fight I'm dominating, knowing that I might be 1 missed punch away from a "one hitter quitter" that I can't get up from. Also, not a big fan of scheduling a fight, then my opponent getting hurt 1 day before the fight, and a much better fighter being the substitute (I was ranked 35 - was supposed to fight the 32nd ranked fighter, and the 24th ranked fighter was subbed in)

For those waiting on the face button controls (like me), you won't have to wait much longer. I have the game but have been addicted to UFC 2009... I hope to get to FNR4 this weekend. Add me as a friend if you want to spar online.
July 7, 2009 – Electronic Arts Inc. (NASDAQ: ERTS) announced today its initial Downloadable Content (DLC) plan for Fight Night Round 4. Recently named the Game Critic Awards “Best Sports Game of E3 2009”, Fight Night Round 4 has been winning over reviewers since its release on June 23rd.
The first DLC pack, which will be available for free to both Xbox 360® and Playstation®3 users by early August, will include a new training gym, new gameplay sliders, as well as a host of new equipment that can be used for outfitting boxers. Xbox 360 users will also receive an exclusive alternate version of Sugar Ray Leonard in their first DLC pack, courtesy of Pizza Hut.
EA SPORTS™ will also be releasing a free downloadable game update by early September that will allow gamers to use face buttons on the Xbox 360 and PS3 game controllers to throw punches, hooks, uppercuts and haymakers.
“The depth and variety of new content we have planned this summer is going to make one of the most critically acclaimed games on the market even better,” said senior producer, Dean Richards. “Among the new content in development, our new button control scheme will give fans a choice for how they want to throw punches in the game. We strongly believe that the refined Total Punch Control is the most intuitive way to throw punches in Fight Night Round 4, but we also want fans of the franchise to have an option.”
Fight Night Round 4 is currently available for the PLAYSTATION®3 computer entertainment system and Xbox 360® video game system from Microsoft. This game has been rated T for Teen by the ESRB, and 16+ by PEGI. For more information, log onto http://fightnight.easports.com.

I picked this up yesterday. Is the stick punching scheme hard to master or should I just wait for the button DLC? I was good with the stick scheme in FN Round 2 back in the GC days.

It gets easier. I was getting killed until I realized I have to actually block and dodge to win.

Re: Fight Night Round 4
Well, that sugar rey leonard alternate outfit promo got me to order Pizza Hut... Hopefully it's good, because it clocks in at 887.01 MB, which seems like a lot for an alternate costume.
edited to add: looking at other forums, I guess there's a general FN4 update and that the code just unlocks the outfit (so as I didn't download the update, the code did it for me)

^^ He's probably right if you're using heavyweights. If you refuse to block, he probably will and then use the counterpunch to get the extra impact.
I love the game but it still has its faults and can turn into a total slugfest if you let it.

Re: Fight Night Round 4
Anyone want my Pizza Hut code? I don't have a 360, so I don't need it. First person to PM me gets it.

Middle or Light Heavyweight -- especially if you're going for the achievements of winning in a weight class above the one you're fighting in; nowhere to go once you're a heavyweight.
The bigger names are in the middleweight class too.

I picked this game up last night for $15 at Best Buy (Deal of the Day) and also used a $5 rewards certificate, so $10 total. I've been sitting on my hands on this one waiting for the right price, and you can't beat $10!

I sold this one a while back, but I had some awesome, epic feeling 12 round boxing matches on there. The feeling of losing a fight that you went all in on, one that you thought you were going to win...pretty cool.
Enjoy!
Enjoy!

Very underrated game. As far as sports games go not named The Show...this one has by far the fewest problems and least broken. If they fixed the jab, it would be near perfect.
