Edit: I'd just like to add that at least Kratos seems to have a personality. The Dante character just seems a bit empty, then again, it was just a demo. |

It just felt to me like a God of War clone with no spirit or personality of its own beyond "tits and demons". |

(BOOBS) Landscape: a violent storm which tosses around the souls. 3rd circle: The Gluttonous. FATTIES Landscape: heavy steady rain. 4th circle: The Avaricious and Prodigals. These souls, mostly clerics, go opposite direction, bumping into each other as they push big rocks. The guardian is Pluto 5th circle: The Wrathful and Sullen. These souls are submerged into the river Styx, which surrounds the city of Dis. The wrathful emerge from the dirty waters while the sullen are completely submerged. The city of Dis: High walls with closed doors guarded by devils, helped by the Furies and the Medusa. "Abandon all hope, ye who enter here" 6th circle: The Heretics. 7th circle: The Violent. Introduced by the Minotaur, this circle is divided into three rings. Violent Against their Neighbors (tyrants and murderers). These souls are plunged into a river of boiling blood: the river Phlegethon. They are watched over by the Centaurs. Violent against Themselves (suicides). It is an unnatural forest with leafless trees. These trees are the souls of the suicides. Violent against God and Nature. Blasphemers, Sodomites, etc. The river Phlegethon cascades into the eight circle 8th circle: Fraud. It is called Malebolge because it is divided into ten bolge (ditches). 9th circle: Treachery. It is divided into four sections. The sinners are in a frozen lake, Cocytus. This circle is surrounded by the Giants The ice of the 9th circled is kept frozen by Lucifer's six flapping wings. Lucifer has three faces, with three mouths, each chewing on a sinner: Judas is in the middle mouth with his head inside, Brutus and Cassius are in the side mouths, with their heads hanging out. |

I just don't think that the poem really needed to be converted into a God of War game.

Yeah, got to the boss fight 5 minutes in and realized this is not the game for me.

Re: Official PS3 Thread - March 09 Edition
Yeah, I saw that comic this morning, and it pretty much sums up my thoughts on the demo.

Re: Official PS3 Thread - March 09 Edition
I wonder if they'll ever explain why Dante feels the need to sew a leather/fabric cross onto his bare skin?

Re: Official PS3 Thread - March 09 Edition
I liked the Dante's Inferno demo a lot more than the Bayonetta demo. Bayonetta's camera was absolutely horrible, I couldn't even finish the demo.

Re: Official PS3 Thread - March 09 Edition
Dante...interesting. Seems like it would be worth getting in 6 months.

Re: Official PS3 Thread - March 09 Edition
Final Fantasy VIII is up on PSN now for anyone who wants it. I still haven't gotten around to playing through VII, so I'll hold off for now.

How do I do Netflix on this? Do I really need some kind of $40 add-on app?

Yep, shipping time's just as quick as receiving one of the discs mailed out from your distribution center. Pop it in your machine, match a code up with your system via your laptop/desktop, and you're ready to go. The Instant Queue function is actually really slick and VERY fast acting. It comes pre-packaged with a bunch of movies you might want to watch, but it's simple to add instant options via the Netflix core website -- and there's LOTS of stuff to choose from. Honestly, the instant streaming alone is worth the $9 a month for basic service, period. |

The wife went and signed up for that disc behind my back so maybe we'll have it tomorrow or Monday.

Re: Official PS3 Thread - March 09 Edition
Anyone try the GT5 370z time trial yet? Yikes I forgot how hard Gran Turismo is without the stability control turned on (it won't let you turn it on i the demo). I was spinning out all over the place, I think my time was like 10,500th

Re: Official PS3 Thread - March 09 Edition
With the most recent firmware update, we are supposed to be able to play mini games on the PS3, but my system says I still can't play Tetris of the PS3, which was one of the main reason I spent $7 on it. Any thoughts? Am I doing something wrong? Is Tetris some sort of an exception? It's the only Mini I own currently; do others work?

Re: Official PS3 Thread - March 09 Edition
Well that sucks about Tetris. I probably wouldn't have bought it had I known that. Still, it's a very nice version of Tetris -- it gives you a "preview" of where the current shape would drop in that position, which is very helpful. Is sounds like Tetris will remain PS3-incompatible.

Pixeljunk Shooter is brilliant...and I'm also looking forward to some Burn Zombie Burn for $5.
