EyePet is coming November 17th for $39.99 or bundled with the camera for $59.99. I'll keep my eye (natch) on this for my daughters' enjoyment. Depending on reviews, it may well be the first PS3 "game" I purchase. |
Re: Official PS3 Thread - March 09 Edition
Yeah, I'm going to get that game too for my daughters (EyePet). It looks interesting enough for me, I mean them.

I tossed my 60gb launch system up on eBay. I'll pick up a Slim sometime later this week. I wonder where I should buy it, that's the question.

Toys R Us will give you a free remote with purchase. And there might be a deal through Dell although i don't remember. |
Re: Official PS3 Thread - March 09 Edition
I'm definitely getting a slim once Beatles: Rock Band comes out however, I'm a little disappointed about some of the reviews of the system as a Blu-ray player.

So while playing a game, the system popped, and now it just blinks red and green every time I try to turn the thing on. Is it done for?

Nintendo was actually kind of dumb to put Wi-Fi on their console. They could have charged the same $250 and left it off adding millions of dollars in profit. I doubt more than 10% of Wii owners go online. Also it's apparently cheap enough to include in every DS, there's no reason any console shouldn't have it built in(even though I don't personally need it). |

Scheduled for release this holiday season, God of War Collection will feature reworked versions of both God of WarŽ and God of WarŽ II on a single Blu-ray Disc™ at full 1280 x 720 resolution. God of War Collection offers substantial value to PS3 consumers, the compilation of both best-selling games costing just $39.99 MSRP. Developed by Sony Computer Entertainment, Santa Monica Studio, the God of War series brings epic mythological battles to life with stunning graphics and an elaborate plot that puts Kratos, the triology’s main character, at the center of carnage and destruction as he seeks revenge against the Gods who have betrayed him. Plagued by the nightmares of his past, the ash covered warrior would do anything to be free of his debt to the Gods and the memories that haunt him. For ten years he has labored for Olympus, now on the verge of losing all hope, the Gods have given him one last task. Destroy Ares, the God of War. Armed with the deadly chained Blades of Chaos, Kratos will have to overcome armies of mythological monsters, legions of undead soldiers, and amazingly dangerous and brutal landscapes. God of War II Storyline God of War saw Kratos, a mortal warrior, set upon an epic quest to dethrone a God. But his journey did not end there. In God of War II, Kratos sits atop his Olympus throne, as the new God of War – far more ruthless than Ares ever was. To end his continued torment, Kratos must journey to the far reaches of the earth and defeat untold horrors and alter that which no mortal, or god has ever changed… his fate. God of War II sets an epic stage for a devastating mythological war to end all wars. Re: Official PS3 Thread - March 09 Edition
Wow! That's big news! I never played either game since they were released late in the PS2.
Great package, great graphics, great price, you can't ask for anything better. |
Re: Official PS3 Thread - March 09 Edition
Sold.
|
Re: Official PS3 Thread - March 09 Edition
I will most certainly pick it up. Can't wait!
|
Re: Official PS3 Thread - March 09 Edition
Cool. And up my GOW I & II go for trade or sale.
I never had a PS2 and got them from trades since my PS3 is BC, but I never really liked the way the picture looked even after tweaking it in various ways thru the menu options. I would rather just start with this new collection. Shame they couldn't throw GOW: Chains of Olympus on there but I know nothing about the logistics of bringing a PSP only game to the PS3. Sweet. |

There's a rumor of GoW 1 & 2 being put on a Blu-Ray disc for the PS3. If that's true they'll either:
a) Remake the games for the PS3 b) Implement some sort of software-based emulation c) Implement software-based emulation for just that disc/games This disc is rumored to have a GoW 3 demo as well. |
Cool. I've never played any of the GoW series, will certainly be picking this up.

Re: Official PS3 Thread - March 09 Edition
I played GOW1 and Heavenly Sword back-to-back and preferred HS, but GOW was still pretty solid. I never got around to playing 2. |
Re: Official PS3 Thread - March 09 Edition
I never played GOW also....I'm curious why they didn't implement these as downloadable or something for $20/each. I'm guessing it is probably a size issue.

It has more to do with the PS3 not having PS2 support anymore. |

Isn't an issue on the 360 to offer full DVD-based games.

Re: Official PS3 Thread - March 09 Edition
Presumably this isn't a PS2 game anymore. It's a remake/port.
|
Re: Official PS3 Thread - March 09 Edition
I just dont understand what that has to do with offering it on BR vs. PSN...
|
Re: Official PS3 Thread - March 09 Edition
Well, they would still have to remake/port it. So this way there's retail space.
I can't imagine either title was "too big" for PSN. |
