They do, but with their clearance sale on new games going on, that $50 could be better spent ($20 Uncharted, Ratchet and Clank, etc....$55 Rock Band Bundle)

Is the $55 Rock Band Bundle good price? Sorry, i never really read up on those stuff, so i have very little knowledge of them. I probably just get it for the kids. I hear that there's a Beatles Rock Band bundle coming out? I'm no music fan, but Beatles are okay.

Re: Official PS3 Thread - March 09 Edition
I'm hearing Targets have the original RB bundle clearanced to $35. Not sure if you'll find a PS3 bundle, but for that price they're practically paying you to take it!

Re: Official PS3 Thread - March 09 Edition
Cool, i might get the RB bundle for the hell of it, i doubt i can get the $35 one in Target, but BBV's $55 maybe. Thanks Hail2dking and pinata.

Re: Official PS3 Thread - March 09 Edition
I know it's different store to store, but the only ones bundles I've seen on clearance (at any price) are the PS2 ones.

Re: Official PS3 Thread - March 09 Edition
Yeah, someone posted about that a while back (me?). The reviews look favorable, but for a $50(rumored, $70 at amazon) pass through it should. The price is just asinine when you consider you still have to buy a wired 360 pad.
I did stumble upon these triggers which look to have rave reviews and will make a great filler item on a future order. I did order a pair of FPS Freeks. They work well enough, just a bit pricey. So there is reasonably priced trigger solution and a concave analog solution, now if only there were a way to fix the ergonomic problem. |
Re: Official PS3 Thread - March 09 Edition
What are you smoking MC? The link in my post is a switch box, which maps Xbox's controller to the PS3, meaning that you can use the Xbox controller completely, not some clip-on trigger or 3rd controller.
Did you see the "white" PS3 next to the white Xbox 360 controller? |
Re: Official PS3 Thread - March 09 Edition
Why's it always gotta be a white thing?

Well, if that's the case, i'm certainly not aware of it, since the "earliest" info i got from MC is this one: A friend of mine bought this at BB a few weeks ago. He brought it over for me to check out last night. Thoughts? This controller is super comfy, it's not as ergonomic as the 360 pad*, but it is leaps and bounds better than the DS layout. The analogs are placed just right, the 'handles' are just a bit 'off.' But again, it's still better than the Dual Shock design. The rubber texture covers the entire shell of the controller, not just the colored grips on the sides. The face buttons do feel cheap, but I had no problems using them. The new 'triggers' for L2 & R2 are subtle but very effective. They are maybe slightly bigger than the stock DS buttons, but there was no slippage action with these since they have a slight concave shape to them. The only true negative using this is the lack of motion control. I tried it out with Killzone and had to stop and swap controllers when I got to a motion section(separate topic, but why can't the goofy motion in that game be mapped to a button?). I think he said he got it for $40. If I played more retail games on the PS3 I would definitely say this is worth it(assuming the game you are playing has zero motion), but personally I can't justify dropping $40-$45 on a third controller. *if this was a first party design in terms of ergonomics I'd rank it: 360, Wavebird, Shadow Wireless, Xbox S-controller,... then way down the list, Dual Shock. |

Re: Official PS3 Thread - March 09 Edition
His point was this info was previously discussed. He thinks he posted it, but wasn't sure.
I'll let you guys figure it. I just know how to read his current post and am not trying to fit an unrelated post about a DualShock to the converter box. |

Re: Official PS3 Thread - March 09 Edition
Ah, i think i know what happened...
MC was simply reading upon my post, the adapter thing which selling at Amazon (about $100 for all that work to use the Xbox controller on the PS3). Then he confused me with his earlier post about the 360 look like pad for the PS3, which is not the same thing... So, it wasn't really old news, just that he didn't like the $100 workaround (i don't blame him). |
Re: Official PS3 Thread - March 09 Edition
Man, I want you guys are smokin :fro:

Re: Official PS3 Thread - March 09 Edition
No, I (or someone) posted about that adapter(not the controller mod). It was a pre-release version where it was speculated that it would run $50.
*edit - found it. Musick posted about it back in February when it was announced. Here's the original announcement from IGN. $40 SRP according to that article. |

Wouldn't you know it? I just noticed this post and the item went up to $67.99. :(
Having said that, $59.99 is the cheapest I've ever seen it, and it usually stays in the $65-70 range. |

Did anyone else get the God of War III survey via email? It was gauging interest in a CE package. It's short and you get a bad ass desktop background after you submit it.

Keep an eye on it. It's been bouncing up and down for months (like a lot of items at Amazon). It was back up to $74.99 just 2 or 3 weeks ago, then it gradually decreased again.
