I was actually planning on getting the slim with some good deals that were available during the holidays but I was talked out of it. Right now I might get my PS3 back with a temporary fix next week. At least I will try to make a backup of my saves and what not .

I'm playing some BC2 tonight for anybody who wants to play a game that doesn't suck the balls.

Spoiler:
Dunebuggies Motherfuckers

I wanted to join but I had a buddy over and we couldn't play splitscreen BC2... so we ended up tooling around in NBA, NHL and Douchey.

I was mostly on weak teams last night...at least until the end of the night. Sean and his son Kevin joined in.

I was playing for a bit with a guy called "JewHntr", who also dropped the N-word a couple dozen times. People are so awesome. -ohbfrank-

There are still some other hints that they are working on something. If it does come out, I'd prefer they just called it Warhawk 2. I think they'd be surprised at how well it would sell.

Re: Weekly Tuesday Warhawk night

I hope they don't change it too much. I'd really just prefer they release another DLC pack with one or two new maps and Naval ships. I like the simplicity of Warhawk.

cruzness 12-31-10 03:32 PM

Re: Weekly Tuesday Warhawk night

Agree w/ Slider. DLC with more maps and ships . keep it simple and eaily accessible. If its a sequel they want call it Warhawk 2, keep the controls the same add some destructibility to structures ala Red Faction and minimal amount of customization. Warhawk has its own little niche and as much of a CoD fan I am I hope they don't try to make it's sequel a CoD clone to spark sales from the dumb masses. (say the last 2 words quickly)

I wouldn't mind seeing some RF:G-type backpacks. Something to give anyone stranded on foot a bit more of a fighting chance against vehicles. :)

Nope, I think I had the 40, but cant remember. it is a fattie though.

Getting ready to try to DIY fix the YLOD and if that doesnt work then going to pick up a new slim.

I'm sure I don't have to tell you this, but the DIY fix is notoriously short-lasting. If you get it to boot up, run a backup first thing and consider deleting your account off of the machine.

Interesting. That is certainly a risk, but for the most part it was sounding like it was a decent enough fix and at least it made sense. I actually repaired my TV in the same basic way...well, I actually replaced some IC's that had gone bad, but it was due to the same basic thing...just got overheated, needed some new solder and some thermal paste...been right as rain for more then a year now. Anyway, at this point I dont feel like I am out much either way, so, either it works or it doesnt. The only thing I was debating on was whether or not to do the replacement option with Sony for a refurb'ed unit and it sounded like doing a self repair attempt may void that option. Wasnt sure I was too keen on a refurb'ed unit though anyway.

Just speaking from anecdotal experience. I know three people who have done the thermal past fix. One lasted a couple of days, one about two weeks, and one maybe 6 months.

At a minimum, run the backup utility, and if it starts getting loud, I'd get your profile off of it and trade it in.

Made it past the first stage anyway. Did the whole shebang last night and it came on and was running. So, counter is at 1 day...will see how long she holds up.

Awesome! I wish you the best of luck...and hopefully it will hold up until you can get a deal on a slim.
