Re: Weekly Tuesday Warhawk night
Good showing tonight, and good times. Laughed my ass off all night aside from really really wanting RubDaBuddha to get those cores planted. I'd watched him carry them all the way across the map and get one from Nic. I figured the red team, who was already well ahead would have given him a moment. :(
Otherwise, freaking hilarious night. It's great to have R2 back in the mix...brings good chemistry. What was it KTown said? Something like "This team isn't very Teamworky". I've got to start writing some of this shit down. F'ing Slider, on my team, with us down a flag, and with Sean and me closing in on the flag plant launches our jeep 100 feet in the air and off the map just to amuse himself. -ohbfrank- I loved fighting off the horde at the end of Infected. Holy shit was that fun! We lost that last map badly, but it was still fun. It seemed like the red team could have overrun us a few times but chose not to for the most part. But there was one moment at the end that was kind of funny. I spawn, grab a jetpack and am immediately lit up by R2. I knife up, jet at him and slice. He says "What did you just do???" Once on Badlands, Marcus and I kill Nic who was carrying the flag. I tell Marcus "Save the flag while I teabag Nic" and go do it. Marcus' reaction was priceless. I generally thought the Cores maps were pretty good. I'll find a balance next week between them and CTF. Hopefully Rubadub (officially what I'm calling him) had a good time. He hit my Warhawk once with a tank shot from FOREVER away. It was pretty cool. Him mining up the lobby was good too. Thanks to those who gave him space to sort out the controls and stuff. |
Re: Weekly Tuesday Warhawk night
I enjoyed running frizby over on tau crater by ramping it and hitting him in midair.
Also running over r2 on the bridge on island outpost. I beeped the horn for about 15 yards. "I equated it on my tv." |
Re: Weekly Tuesday Warhawk night
Pissed I couldn't make it last night. More people ended up coming over and I couldn't convince the lot of them to play Warhawk (none of them ever had). They wanted to drink and watch mooovies. :(

And I was actually trying on the Archipelago map, Friz. You caught me at a time when I was heading to get the other team's flag, but I stopped and pulled out my binocs when I saw KTown had taken our flag. Once Z shot me with the tank I got distracted and just started goofin around. |

Re: Weekly Tuesday Warhawk night
I picked up a copy of BC2 today with some Best Buy credit I had.
I'm trusting chess' word. ;) |
Re: Weekly Tuesday Warhawk night
BFBC2!!
(hopefully you don't get the motion sick...) |
Re: Weekly Tuesday Warhawk night
Yeah, I watched the youtube linky in his sig and kinda got the sick just from that. Crap.

Re: Weekly Tuesday Warhawk night
I don't know what chess thinks, but you might be pretty good with a Recon. I haven't tried it myself, but it seems like it might cut down on some of the shaky as you'll be a little more stationary.
Oh, and Chew, btw. so I ordered that GoHastings ME2 and then that Walmart ME2. Figured I'd just sell the GoHastings on Half.com and keep the Walmart new one, right? So GoH doesn't send the thing for like a week after purchase. I'd already put up it up on Half.com so it could be sold and shipped before Xmas. Well, the Half.com item sold for $14 the same day I posted it. So shit. I wait a few days, the GoHastings order still doesn't come. So I go pick up the Walmart copy, take the DLC code from the package and ship the opened game as my Half.com sale. I receive the GoHastings order today (finally) and it's a brand new copy for $7. So I purchased two copies for $18 then sell one for $14. And now I have an extra DLC code. ME2 for $4. |
Re: Weekly Tuesday Warhawk night
I'll bet you'll get $10 for that code on ebay if you put it up for sale. Can't wait to hear what you think of it. :) |

Hoping you like it...and it doesn't make you sick. I think you'll like the ability to spawn on teammates and just help them along. You'll get some kills, but you'll rack up a ton of points with the medic whether you get kills or not.
Maybe I can crank out the single player by then to get some playtime. |
Re: Weekly Tuesday Warhawk night
I only recommend the single-player to the extent that it gets you used to the controls for the multiplayer. I just didn't enjoy it that much. It seemed like they were trying to be more like CoD in the single-player.
But the multiplayer is amazing. We'll maybe play this Friday, it being Christmas Eve and all, but a few of us will likely be on every night in the short term. |
Re: Weekly Tuesday Warhawk night
Oh, yeah, didn't even think about Friday being Christmas Eve.

Re: Weekly Tuesday Warhawk night
Yeah, I got bored with the single player. Honestly one of the coolest things I like about BFBC2 is the ability to mark people so that your teammates can see them..that effect is really lost in single player and there was nothing else to hold my attention on that one.

Re: Weekly Tuesday Warhawk night
I actually like to play on hardcore, which somewhat removes the spotting element...at least partly because I hate snipers and everything they stand for. ;)

Re: Weekly Tuesday Warhawk night
So, can a match on BF:BC2 only contain 8 active players, or can you have more than two squads in any particular game? How many players have you convinced to pick this up, Chess?

All matches are public matches. There is no private option. |
Re: Weekly Tuesday Warhawk night
Ugh. No private matches? Fail. :(
