This is pretty fun, but overall, I prefer the Resident Evil shooter, as it's got much more depth to it.

This game is awesome. Finished it up last night, now time to play the Director's Cut mode and finish buying and upgrading the rest of the weapons.

$29.97 at Amazon now. Took 3 months, longer than I thought. Mad World also had a price drop to $30.

The OP must work in marketing at Sega, he/she knows exactly how to sell to their audience. I'm in for one.

Damn, both back up to 45 and 40 respectively. Curse you Amazon.

Took 5 months, but the game reached my magic price of $20 today at Amazon! I put in my order just now.

I actually prefer not using the gun and sticking with the Wiimote.

YMMV, but I picked this up today at my Target in Knoxville, TN on clearance for 12.98. And they had around four more copies.

^ Nice!
I'm going to check the 'Cityview' Target in Ft. Worth tonight when I pick up some Dublin Dr. Pepper.

edit: got it! Worth noting is that it wasn't in the regular discount section of Wii games. It was in the CD/DVD/BD section in an endcap of one of the rows. Last copy.

Very fun game. I already played through the campaign once, and plan to keep playing to buy the better guns and get higher scores.

Re: House of the Dead Overkill is Vile

Bumping this just to say that I've been playing this co-op with my son (the only way I'd let him play it).

For what this game is going for these days ($13), you'd be crazy not to pick it up. The cutscenes are completely skippable after you play through the story once, and this game, combined with a couple of Perfect Shots is co-op crack.

Highly recommended....and yes, it is vile.

I ordered this, it is the first shooter I've ever owned, but it sounds right up my alley, I loved the arcade game. I just need to get my hands on at least one Perfect Shot before the game is delivered from Amazon.

Amazon has the Perfect shot for as cheap as anybody...and just so you know, you CAN dual-wield in this game.

Based on your username, I'll bet you dig it.

I have had this sitting on my shelf unopened for way too long. Time to try it out this weekend.

Should have quoted. I meant the Perfect Shot is out of stock at Amazon

Bummer. Holding a pistol really adds to the "feel" of the game.

I'm going to call around to a few GameStops tomorrow since every other retailer in town is out. I've tried Fry's, Target, Toys R Us, Wal Mart, but come up with nothing!

I have those Nerf Shells. Picked them up cheap on clearance at Target and they work pretty well. Definitely a bit more fun to play that way. I really like this game though the frame rate drops are annoying.

The game is no-doubt buggy, but some of the frame rate dips seem almost purposeful...particularly when the sound drags as well. It seems like it's part of the grindhouse aesthetic.

Anyway, I played through the Director's Cut today, and it's official: I love this game. The longer sequences in the DC really put it over the top for me. This is bar-none, my favorite "light-gun" shooter.

My kid was looking at the box today while I was playing, and he asked me "What's a goregasm?" He also asked about "Slow MoFo".

Bumping this since Typing of the dead overkill just came out on Steam:

I never played the dreamcast version but am loving this one! Game is a freaking riot.
