There's a section on Facebook that is called "Xbox Live Frends on Facebook" and one "Facebook Friends on Xbox Live". I don't show anyone in either category. Is that a feature not yet active?

Are they going to continue with the "all or nothing" approach to notifications? In other words, if I want to see my achievement notifications, will I also get notification every time somebody Twitters things like "I am always cranky before I get my first cuppa joe LOL"?

I don't think it works the way you think it works.

It's active, as mine has a few people on each, I'd guess you may just not have other friends using the new dash yet, or they haven't messed around with the facebook setup.

On that subject, with the way they have you connect to other people on Facebook via Xbox, I really thought we'd finally see the 100 friend list limit raised this time around. Why provide a way to find a ton more people and then offer no way to increase your overall list. Lame.

I went into the store today to purchase another subscription (this one for my son).

The Best Buy employees again had no idea of the text offers, etc. I ended up speaking to a manager (who was the worst of the employees I spoke to) and calling corporate before I was done. It took an hour.

They eventually "gave me the discount" to get rid of me. Literally, that's what they told me. After which I called Best Buy corporate filed a complaint, as well as slamming them on the survey they give you with the receipt.

Its ridiculous when a store that sells technology, advertises via text, twitter, internet, etc has no idea about the tech they sell or even use for their own offers.

They wanted me to print the text message :-(

If somebody is my Facebook friend, but not my Live friend, and we've both integrated the two, can I invite him or her to games?

I just handed the clerk my phone and showed her the message. No problems.

I haven't seen this yet, but I don't have many FB friends that are on XBL that I haven't already added. Those that aren't probably haven't got the preview yet.

Or vice versa. I was really interested in finding XBL friends on FB in the "real world" but that doesn't appear to exist. Because I know many of the people here that are on my XBL list have FB pages - I've seen them because I stalk.

I thought this is what it was doing? It shows people on my friends list that are on Facebook, and people that I have as friends on Facebook that aren't on my Xbox friend list. Are you saying that first display will only show those that are on Facebook and I'm also friends with?

Re: The Official Xbox 360 thread - thread hardest

There are 3 lists for me.

1) Friends - These are simply my FB friends, makes sense.

2) FB Friends on XBL - This is empty for me, but it reads like this is going to show me gamertags of people I already have on FB, but not on XBL.

3) XBL Friends on FB - This has 7 people that are already on both my lists. I don't see anyone in here that is on XBL but not FB, even though I know several (or all) of my XBL friends have FB pages, including several here.

I'm just saying I don't see a way to go from XBL (virtual identity) to FB (kinda-sorta real identity).

Are you seeing something different?

I can't get it to show anyone. I know that you are on FB and are on my Friends list, but you're not showing up either.
Is there a way I'm supposed to "opt in" for this to work?

How are they supposed to know which of my FB friends are on Live, BTW? I don't see any way to indicate that in my profile.

No...this is what I see. (I'm just going from memory unfortunately.) On #2, that is correct. I have one person showing there that I cleared off my XBL list, but am still friends with on FB. On #3, is it possible the other showing aren't in the preview program or done anything through their Xbox with FB yet? I guess I was assuming that was the case if people aren't showing there. Maybe you could remove me as a friend on FB and see if I still show on that list for you. (And also cause I hate you.)

EDIT - Nevermind...I guess this is the situation that Decker has above. Seems odd they wouldn't show you people on your XBL list and provide a way to friend them on FB. Although I guess they'd probably rather give you the tools to get as many people on your XBL list vs. caring about if you can find those people on FB.

I know and that's what others reported as well and that's what was so frustrating with my experience. If others were reporting similar I might have cut them some slack. I really can't stand my local Best Buy. I generally stay out of the place due to just this kind of experience.

They basically acted like I was lying to them.

I did the above. They hadn't heard of the deal so I had to wait a few minutes while their managers checked it out, but they took it.

Thanks a lot, Decker! Been waiting for a deal like this to sign up on xbox live again. Now I just need to get better at hard on RB2. lol

How are you guys getting to Facebook on Live? I tried at lunch, but only found the video, not the Facebook channel.

I don't think it launches for everyone until Tuesday.

I'm on the beta though I don't use FB or Twitter. As far as I can tell though they are just separate apps like Netflix. Certainly the Last.FM app is like that, which I found disappointing. I was hoping it would be integrated into the dashboard itself.

Re: The Official Xbox 360 thread - thread hardest

Well, I received my Arcade today and have split results.

The good news, I can use the same hard drive, the one from my Elite, in both consoles. Yay! I tried first in the Arcade and everything went smooth. Then in the Elite, just to be sure, and no issues.

Then the not so good news. I tried to play MW2 in the Arcade, everything went fine but then I noticed that it was too noisy, well, yeah, it was reading the game from disk! duh!, so I went back to the dashboard and went to the games detail and then was sure to select the option "Play from Hard Drive". So I clicked there and received the following message:
"This game can only be played on the console and hard drive it was originally installed on".

Fu@#$@#$!!!

So, it seems that I have two options:
- Play my games from disc in one console and from hard drive in another.
- Or get another hard drive, and a memory unit, so I can install the game to hard drive in both consoles and just move saves in the memory unit...

I think right now I'd go for the first option, or is there something else I can do?

Wow, they tie installs to the console? That's fucking insane. However, is it that big a deal to listen to the drive on one console?
