According to sources speaking with British trade site MCV, Microsoft's Project Natal will be released worldwide in November 2010, and may retail for under $80.

The details apparently leaked during a round of developer visits in the UK, in which Microsoft toured studios showing off the technology.

The same sources reckon 14 games will be available at launch, with 5 million cameras ready for sale on day 1, spread between standalone cameras and 360/Natal bundles.

Most interesting of all, however, is word on the price Microsoft are hoping to charge, with an expected price of £50 in the UK, which is USD$80. One source, however, indicated Microsoft may go even cheaper in an effort to make Natal an "impulse buy", and price it as low as £30 (USD$50).

At $50-$70, I would consider buying it.

$50? I'm down for that.

It's all about the games. I bought the camera for the 360 and never used it. I don't need another piece of tech collecting dust. Show us some more game play videos Microsoft.

If it's ~$50.00 and packed in with a "Wii Sports Resort" type game, I'll check it out.

A-men. My camera only gets used when my boy wants to see himself on TV. But I mainly got it because I found a great deal on the kit with Gold and points, so it was basically "free".

I would need more actual gameplay or even functionality videos, but even with that, I'm not really hugely interested - most of the time when I play a game, I want to sit on the sofa, and my room is not laid out well for active gaming.

It would have to be < 70$ for me to be interested, and it would have to be supported by games or apps in which the motion controls were not just tacked on.

If they could make this work so you're actually running or moving/throwing as a soccer player or quarterback I'd finally start picking up some sports games. Just think - spin moves, pump fakes, shakes, etc. Heck, maybe you could actually "aim" for an FPS and hit a button to reload and switch weapons. It could be great. If it's just moving people around to block balls - while neat - no thanks.

Running? Do most people play their videogames in a 2000 sqft. room?

You're forgetting about the rumors of Microsoft's omni-directional treadmill, Bus.

If you are doing all this for sports games...why not just play the sport in real life...

I think you'd be alone in this. I don't want to have to move like LT2 (pre 2008) to finish a game like Madden, not to mention how the heck would you play defense? How would the game know where you're throwing the ball? Are you going to call over a friend to hit you when you get tackled?

That said, there are some cool things that could come out of this, I just don't see football/soccer games like this being all that popular.

Yeah, I'm not interested in sports games where I have to do all that moving. I already play basketball in real life and i'd hate to play that way in NBA 2K10.

Can you get a group of guys together at 10:30 pm on a work night to play hoops?

Yeah, but you're 2-3 hours behind the rest of the world so it's not that impressive.

There's still an overly archaic 100-friend limit on XBL, right?

I'm currently at 99 so I guess it's time to start trimming dead weight. 1st on the chopping block: the ex-wife's silver account ;)

You know why there's 100 friend limit? For matchmaking in Halo 2. Time to move on, Microsoft!

Re: The Official Xbox 360 thread - thread hardest

Seriously, can't they patch the OS to recognize that it's Halo 2 asking and only return 100 of the friends? Maybe even let you specify which of your friends are made know to Halo 2.

See, now is when I really need groups on my friends list so I can remember where everyone came from. I'd much rather drop random-x360a.org person that helped me with game X in the past than anyone from here.

Doesn't it still crack the top 10 most played Live games? I haven't played it in ages but I think I'd rather have that option to hop on and play than needing more than 99 friends. At least until they add some decent sorting options like nameable groups (Friends, Family, Co-Workers, DVDtalk, etc.)

Is anybody still playing Halo 2 multiplayer? Maybe I'll pop in the disc tonight and see.
