I upgraded to a 120 HD about a year ago. It started out real fast. Wait.

Now yesterday, If I went directly to the game library, it did pop up really quickly. But coming out of an XBLA or Indie game, it did indeed take about 30 seconds to show the Recent Games listing. So maybe the problem comes from transitioning from game mode to dashboard. In either case, it's not a problem with the PS3 at all, which makes me think the problem that the 360 has with accessing your game listings is something independent of HDD clutter.

I've had a 120 HD for almost 3 years now and never perfomed a cache. How do you do it and will I lose anything important?

i think its now a 'clear cache' option under the hard drive in memory management

If its the same as the button combo from a few years ago, clearing the cache could cause some havoc with the Oblivion game. not sure about what else

For those who bought everything in the Summer Of The Arcade promotion, I just got my 800 points deposited automatically into my account today, so their 4-8 week "shipping" estimate seems just about correct.

I don't think that's possible right now. You can't with PlayOn either. I know that you can stream your Musica Library, from your PC, and have it as background music while playing games though.

I wonder we'll be able to do it with Last.FM (that's the same concept as Pandora). My guess is NO.

You think Last.FM won't work like that? Other than scrobbling that is all Last.FM is for. I imagine you will be able to listen to various user stations when the integration hits.

Well, I have the Last.FM app for the iPhone and it works exactly like Pandora radio. You can select any band/song you want and create a station for it. Again, same as Pandora, it will stream songs that are similar to whatever you selected.

My guess is that you'll need to keep the application open all the time in the Xbox, so it can show you information about the artists, you can like/dislike it, etc. and of course, show you ads. Yeah, I don't have great expectations about it. And of course I hope I'm wrong, I really would like to do the same thing you want to do.

Well, if it is an application that has to remain open therefore can't work in-game it will be little more than useless.

Well, there are some guys that use their Xbox as a jukebox, so Last.FM may be another option for them.

Which I've never understood unless you like having a roaring jet engine strapped to your jukebox. I still use the original Xbox for that function if you can believe it.

I know people repeatedly make this joke but my 360 isn't loud at all. I could easily use it to play music or whatnot and the music would drown out the little bit of noise it does make. What is so loud on your 360? The fan?

Yep, it's the fan. My first 360 was pretty quiet but still too loud to be a music player but this replacement one is just insanely loud. I'm thinking of picking up an Elite with the new price drop and rebate and I'm going to get it someplace that has a no hassles return policy so I can keep swapping until I find one that's quiet.

When I got rid of my old one and bought a Jasper Arcade, the difference was remarkable. It's still not silent (the way my launch PS3 is), but it's MUCH better -- barely noticable. I had, at one point, bought an HD-DVD drive for the 360 but had to return it since we couldn't even watch a movie over that fan noise.

Walmart has an easy no-hassle return policy, for 90 days, I believe. Target also has a 90 day return policy. Costco sells in a package that you probably won't need but has no time limit on the return.
