I like the checked shoes. Pass on the rest. No parachute pants, wtf?

Re: The Official Xbox 360 thread - thread hardest
Glad there's no Swatch watch as it would've broken the streak of not paying for Avatar clothing in our household.

Re: The Official Xbox 360 thread - thread hardest
I want at least a couple of those.

Re: The Official Xbox 360 thread - thread hardest
Does anyone know if the three year warranty for RROD starts over once you get your system repaired or do they still count from the initial purchase date? I got mine fixed about two years ago and now its freezing but the website says not under warranty.
|
Re: The Official Xbox 360 thread - thread hardest
Once its repaired your given a 1 year warranty for it, so if the website says it's out of warranty you might want to double check via calling MS support and seeing if it is.

Re: The Official Xbox 360 thread - thread hardest
Mine just red ringed this week and was well over a year past the warranty. It even showed as 'out of warranty' online. I called MS and they said they would fix it no charge. Didnt even put up a fight.

Re: The Official Xbox 360 thread - thread hardest
Thanks. Its not RROD it just freezes and then makes a beep sound. It does say I'm out of warranty so I guess I'm just SOL. If it was still under warranty, I would induce the RROD.
Looks like I'll be buying the PS3 version of games for a while. |

Nope. It's a 90-day warranty from the day it's shipped back from repair (not even the day you get it back, which I thought was extra-shitty, since my repaired console got shipped to the wrong address and took over a week to come back to me).
✝ Standard warranty expired: A three-year warranty applies to Xbox 360 issues that are associated with three red lights. Please click Request a Repair to proceed. And when I start a ticket it still shows as $0.00 for the repair when I pick 3RR's and I am past 3 years on my original purchase also. |

I can get a 360 Arcade from Dell now for about $170. Would it be a good choice just to get this one and take my old HD out and use it here, or best just to wait and get a new Elite?
|
Re: The Official Xbox 360 thread - thread hardest
If you can wait, it's always smartest to wait until Black Friday as there's always a good deal or two on console bundles then.

Forza 3 has gone gold. Demo coming on the 24th.

Re: The Official Xbox 360 thread - thread hardest
Do racing games still sell? It seems like there are a million of them coming out and (at least here and in the gaming magazines I read), they're all met with an indifferent shrug. Oversaturated market, last-gen gameplay. I have so many that I've only played once or twice (including Forza 2 and PGR 4) and some nice ones (GRID, Midnight Club LA) that are still in shrink wrap. This entire generation, I can think of only one truly great racing game : Burnout Paradise.

Re: The Official Xbox 360 thread - thread hardest
Burnout Revenge was a better Burnout game (broken record).
Test Drive: Unlimited was a great game Pure is pretty awesome Motorstorm is solid Excite Truck/Bots are a blast Mario Kart is, well, Mario Kart But yeah, it's pretty much oversaturation. For every great one there are four shitty ones. I am intrigued by Blur and totally hype for Split/Second. |

Re: The Official Xbox 360 thread - thread hardest
Burnout Revenge and Mario Kart Wii are near flawless.
Motorstorm and Pure had moments. Haven't bought a racer since Mario..looking forward to deciding between Dirt 2 and NFS Shift...both of which are getting amazing reviews. |

Re: The Official Xbox 360 thread - thread hardest
I used to love racing games, but Burnout (pre-Paradise) really has ruined me for other series. If a racer isn't that, I'm usually not interested.
I will give the likes of Pure some props though. That demo was really fun. Since SSX isn't SSX anymore, Pure seems to be the next best thing. I was waiting for that to come down in price, and now that I see I can get a used copy for $14... |

I posted this in the game deals thread, but since it is 360-specific I will post here as well

Alright, I took a chance. Worst case I'll just give it to my brother and sister-and-law that I just gave a 360 and TB:RB to for their wedding.
