Re: Rock Band: Official Thread
so no talk on how awesome Chinese Democracy is? I cant be the only person who bought it (yes, the complete album), and holy crap is it way better than I thought it would be... Every track is just a blast to play, even the easier stuff (and even then, the easiest i think is still 3 stars, This Is Love might be 2, i cant remember), but wow... I am happy for awhile now

I listened to the whole album on Monday and watched all the guitar charts yesterday. There are a couple tracks that are going into the "Maybe" category that I'll pick up when there's a slump (that's more than 1 week).

Re: Rock Band: Official Thread
Sorry if this discussion has been hashed over before but, its my turn to rant...
Is it normal to have visions of taking your guitar and smashing it over the head of whoever decided to include "Visions" in this game?
Im not sure which would give me more pleasure. Smashing up-side the head of HMX peeps for one of the worst setlists I have ever heard, or taking a crack at the entire band that created "Visions" and thought this was music.
I had to play that aweful HMX setlist 3 times. First time xpert 7/9. Then Hard 8/9. The last time on Med just to get it over and done with.
The only redeeming song is Night Lies and only because they sound like a KISS tribute band with a horrible name. The other 8 songs are uninspiring and all around wastes of time.

Bang Camaro is a wicked awesome name for a wicked awesome band.
Visions, imho, is the only weak link in the entire game. All the HMX songs grow on you, if you don't like them at first.

^^ If I knew how to post a picture of Rocky Dennis, that's what I'd do... because that chick looks just like him. Her chin would make Leno jealous.

Hmmm.
Bang (voila! a) Camaro?
Bang (a) Camaro?
(I) Bang (-ed a) Camaro?
Bang (-ing in a) Camaro?
Bang (I ran into a) Camaro?
Maybe I'm missing something. But then again most band names are nonsense.
The only song I can stand multiple replays of is Night Lies. The other bands just are not inspiring enough to make me want to play thru them again by choice.

Re: Rock Band: Official Thread
Maybe it would help to know a little bit about the band to see if the name fits:
It fits
The band is composed of a bassist, a drummer, three guitarists, and anywhere from ten to twenty vocalists comprising a full choir of lead singers. The band's music is somewhat similar in style to late-'70s and '80s metal.
The basic song structure employed by the band does away with traditional verses in order to highlight catchy choruses and integrate as many guitar solos as possible. The result has been described by the band as, "taking everything we loved about the genre, and throwing everything out that we hated."
The band cites Elvis Presley and Buddy Holly as influences in addition to arena rock bands like Skid Row, Iron Maiden, and Dokken. "I would call us anthem rock," said Alex Necochea. "We're really not heavy metal. I think our focus is more on writing great singles, as best as we can make them. That's just something Bryn and I grew up on. We're big fans of melody and big driving hooks, that sort of thing."

That, Lithium, and Come as You Are.
Either there's an epic 3-pack coming, several 3-packs with other songs, or those are held back for RB3-5.

I'll take...
Smells Like Teen Spirit
All Apologies
You Know You're Right
Lithium
Rape Me
About a Girl
Come As You Are
Heart-Shaped Box
Sliver
and then the whole Unplugged album.
That's all I ask.

I'm still dumbstruck by the fact that MTV owns Harmonix yet we haven't gotten a single Unplugged tune from any artist as DLC.

Re: Rock Band: Official Thread
1) These songs are in no music game of any brand on any platform. Even GH has, what, 7 (or more) Nirvana songs, and none of them are these.
2) It took a year to release Nirvana 01. I think that was driven by delays, finally ending in an incomplete Nevermind.
3) If these were being held back for on-disc selections, "Drain You" wouldn't have been in RB2.
Just my guesses, but hopefully something changes.
