Saw this come across Twitter earlier today. From Fred Durst:
EDIT: I see he mentioned it back on 3/23. I don't think it was posted then.

Thanks for your input, folks. I picked up a copy of the RB 2 Wii software for $39.99 from Toys R Us today and we'll use the GH:WT band package we picked up off Amazon a few weeks ago for $119. Two games for under $160, not bad. Of course, I need the Pearl Jam DC, too...

Got to play the Sponge Bob Pack with my 5 year old daughter today. Maybe my favorite DLC yet just for that experience. She did really well with vocals on easy, but of course she knows the songs.

I didn't tell my kids that the songs were available, but when I started playing them, they came running. They couldn't believe what they were hearing, then they asked if SpongeBob was a playable character, lol.

Girlfriend was absolutely ecstatic when Journey was available and the kids were with Spongebob. Great week of DLC.

To those with the Rock Band cymbals, would you recommend the triple cymbal or double cymbal pack?
I've got a gift card to Best Buy, but they only have the double cymbal in stores. Online I can order the triple cymbal, but shipping is expensive. I'd rather go through Amazon for free shipping.

With all the editing that would have to be done to that track, it'd be worth $1 at most.

Re: Rock Band: Official Thread
I downloaded it and while playing through it the first time, the game suddenly froze up mid-song. It was very Sopranos-esque. I brought up the guide button, closed it and it started playing again. That's never happened before. Weird.

I'll grab the shins and would be in for some Limp in the future if they pick the right songs. OK, I have to ask this, am I the only one who fucking sucks at Don't Stop Believing on expert? 4-5 note pulloffs have always been my kryptonite, but usually with overdrive I have no major issues passing songs - but I can't even get by that fucking intro on expert, which is the difficulty I always play on... blows

Wonder if this summer update is the same one referenced at GDC that has stat tracking improvements or a separate update?
London, 3rd April - It’s time to break free from the cords and perform like a true rock star with music games on the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft!
Today, Microsoft announced that Activision’s “Guitar Hero® Metallica®” and MTV’s “Rock Band 2” will be among the first music titles to support the celebrated “Lips” wireless microphones.
Last year, Microsoft created the high quality wireless microphones that set the standard for music game peripherals, and teamed with iNiS to let fans around the world rock out with them on “Lips.” With the latest in motion-sensing technology and built-in LED lights that pulse to the rhythm of your performance, these microphones help Xbox 360 stand out as the home of the best music experiences.
Now these mics will help people jam like never before with other great music games on Xbox 360, first with “Guitar Hero® Metallica.” A title update this summer will also activate mic compatibility with “Rock Band 2.” Additional titles that support the “Lips” microphones will available later this year, and only on Xbox 360.

I think this is one I'll probably buy the next time I have people over...as that's the only time I'd enjoy playing it. I don't particularly like journey or the song, but it has that "fun at a party because it's stupid" kind of feel to it.
In the mean time, I'm ALL OVER the Shins!!!!!!!

I actually liked Shockwave so I will check out the Black Tide video.
I will double dip for New Slang. I think it plays well.
Bullet? Not a big fan, I would have picked their more melodic stuff.
And no thanks on Keith....though I will check out the How Do You Like Me Now vid.
