I have trouble with it too. I got through it once, and the rest of the song is really easy. It's just that part, that's hard for me. I don't know why, but I just can't get the timing right or something. If it was just 3 notes, I'd probably be ok. I usually do fine on those sections, but 4 notes is another story.

Looks like the Lips mic's work in Guitar Hero Metallica as of today, but still not Rock Band 2.

Although, it does say the following:

Now those wireless mics are a great deal more useful. Microsoft has officially announced that Guitar Hero Metallica supports the wireless singsticks, and a title update this summer will add the functionality to Rock Band 2 as well. Singers rejoice! Now if only Guitar Hero World Tour would get in on the act. *eyes Activision*
Hopefully this upcoming title update in the summer also includes some new features, like being able to see stars.

Wonder if this summer update is the same one referenced at GDC that has stat tracking improvements or a separate update?

Something from the first CD should be fine, from LB. Not in any of my Top lists but I actually enjoy a few of the songs, specially Faith. :p

I'm with you. It kills me too. It is why I can't beat Green Grass and High Tides as well. Anyone got any tips?

The only advice I would give about the quadruplets or whatever is just to make sure you aren't hitting them too fast. That's always been my problem. All that said, I can't get the speed down when they go faster at the end of the into. But by taking my time on the first set, I've been able to get through everytime, usually flashing red.

When the quad notes speed up, strum like mad.

At the very least, strum the first note of each quadruplet whether you're hitting them or not.

Also, I don't treat them like pulloffs where you have all fingers held down on the first note and lifting each finger up - I hammer each note, kind of like when you're sitting at a desk bored drumming your fingers - not sure how else to explain it.

Also if the run of notes is GRYB GRYB GRYB GRYB, for example, instead of fretting each and every note hold the green down and fret the other three.

I normally play with the wireless GH3 Les Paul and I could not pass this song for anything. I finally passed it by using the RB1 Strat and practicing the solos with the solo buttons and using two hands on the tricky parts.

I was fighting with this last night for 1/2 an hour on Expert. I decided to pick all the notes as I knew it would be hard to keep it going as all HOPO since once you miss one you have to pick again for the HOPO to work.

I was doing good with picking all of them for a little bit but kept losing it. Finally, I decided to watch my left hand instead of the screen, and I started nailing it with all picked notes. I think I wasn't letting go of the previous note neatly before picking the next.

Then, when it speeds up, I just kept picking on the blue note and doing a double pulloff to yellow and red while ignoring the green note. This was enough to get me through the part.

Funny thing is, playing a real guitar or bass, I would never need to look at my neck to play a line like that accurately, but for some reason it helped me concentrate on the RB strat.

It will be the same update.

I hope that star-tracking is retroactive, but I'm not going to hold my breath. It just means I'll have to play through my 400 or so songs again.

I can't wait for Tuesday! I've been wanting that BFMV song to show up ever since I first heard it. That breakdown right before the solo where everyone screams "Shred!" is going to be so fucking amazing!

I'll be grabbing the Black Tide song as well. It's not as good as Shockwave, but I've been jonesing for some more metal and this will have to do. Still sounds like a fun track.

Maybe they will have an "Import from Spreadsheet" option.

;)

I dont' mind playing everything again. I've still got a bunch of Tour Challenges to finish up, but I'm working my way through them slowly but surely.

I'm in for The Shins next week, and that's all.

I would definitely play some Limp Bizkit on RB. I think some of those songs would be really fun.

That's a great point - it's crucial to let go of the previous note since the scale goes downwards instead of upwards where it doesn't matter.

I don't know jack about programming but if the Star system is 100% score based shouldn't it be a simple convert? If a saved score is between a & b = 3*, between b & c = 4*, etc.

I don't believe it saves what difficulty you played on though. If they had separate quickplay menus for each difficulty (like the old GH games), then I wouldn't see a problem.

Of course, they could surprise me and be storing some data I'm not aware of.

If anyone on the PS3 is looking to play on-line, go ahead and add me. My ID is copperblue17. I'm an expert drummer with RB2, RB1 and 100+ DLC. I'm looking for other Expert players with a similar inventory of songs.

I have the opposite problem with the BFMV song than everyone else has with Prequel to the Sequel. It's sweet up until the chorus where he doesn't scream and then I hate it. At least he realizes that his singing sucks and screams once more. But then he tries singing again! And for a pretty extended period!

Ok guys. I finally got RB2 for the Wii.

My RB2 FC is: 2262 7713 2679 for anyone out there in DVDTalk land with a Wii wanting to add friends. PM me if you add me.

The load time on the Wii is really quick compared to GH. Much more time spent actually playing instead of waiting for song to load or choosing songs to play.

Dont know if there is a way you can challenge cross consoles or not. But that would be great if we could.

First impressions were as I expected. Love the interface. Love the way the game treats you like a member in a band and experience as you progress. Love not knowing the songs coming up in a mystery set.

Have not played drums yet only X-guitar.

Couple o' questions:
What is the fastest way to open up the songlist?
Do the managers make any difference?

Challenges. I think the infinite ones are your best bet.

Actually, I believe it's the Decade challenges. Definitely not World Tour, that's for sure!
