Sounds good to me. Foreigner is sorely missing too.

But yeah, the vocal track sucks worse than it normally does.

The only way I would want any lil wayne in the game is if it's this cover version:

I'd pretty much cream in my pantaloons if we got that pack for real.

I'm not all just metal and wigwearing showmanship and catchphrases, you know! I enjoy the bassline and vocals in U2's New Year's Day as much as everybody else!

FUNK PACK:
Shining Star is the highlight of the pack, easily. Incredible on vocals and guitar and drums. Pick Up The Pieces is kinda boring, but I can see it being fun on drums. The James Brown song is really repetitive but I can't hate songs that are final tier for vocals. 100% incoming soon if I stop my Capcom time with RE5 and SF4.

So it looks like the limit on a post size is about 85K or so. After adding in a new feature to the DLC Post and hitting preview, it broke. :(

I've got a couple options on how to fix it, and wanted to get a quick sampling before I did anything major.

1) I can shift things around. Move Current/Upcoming info to Post #1, as well as maybe the pack and album info. This will probably only work temporarily as more and more DLC gets released.

2) Come up with some HTML format (would take a little bit of time) and host it on my own domain. The problem with that is I don't know how often it would get used since it wouldn't be "on-site", so to speak.

The new feature is pretty nice, and something that people have asked me to implement. I have added XBOX Marketplace links to every song, pack, and album released to date. It's made to streamline the DLC buying experience as much as possible. Check the charts, and then click the Marketplace link without having to scrounge through the actual Marketplace.

Completely off topic, but:

I've been listening to 'Ten' again for the first time in quite a while (normally listen to mostly live stuff by them now), and cannot express how jacked up I am for the release.

BRING ON 'PORCH'!!!!!!!!!

Why not copy what's already been done on these forums for something similar? http://forum.dvdtalk.com/video-game-...earchable.html

Either that or point everyone to one of the sites that already track DLC and videos, like www.myrockbandsongs.com

I might be able to load an off-site page in a frame like Flay is doing. That's a good idea.

As for just pointing someone to another site, what fun is that? I've put a lot of work into making that post and this thread and try to make it a nice place to hang out.

You're right. I saw Flay's name at the bottom mentioning the DVDTalk Leaderboards and just threw his name in there.

I noticed several of the Nirvana tracks sounded a lot rougher than they did on Nevermind, and I've noticed it on a few other tracks as well. It's like some of the production effects/cleanup gets taken out and we get the raw vocal track. Sometimes I imagine that's not a good thing. :(

What you are supposed to get are stems with all of the effects, eq, and whatever else printed on them, so that if you mix them all together you get the finished song (sans mastering of course). Sometimes though, what the labels send are just raw tracks without any of that stuff, and you have to try to match it to the album the best you can. Which is not always easy, and I imagine these guys don't get a lot of time to work on one song. Also there are times when more work is done in mastering than usual, because the mastering engineer isn't happy with the mix and may use a lot of eq, dynamics etc. None of that would be on the stems and that sound would need to be recreated somehow.

I like the frame idea too. It'll still be embedded in the dvdtalk thread.

Looks like I just need to convert the format to HTML and host them. Did a quick test with an iframe and it seemed to work fine. I'll see if I can't get that converted before I leave for GDC on Tuesday just in time to miss out on Ten. :(

Why don't we just get Journey's Greatest Hits and then I can not have to buy DLC ever again.

Thanks - I'll give one or both of those tips a try before trying anything else. I'm somewhat tempted to just solder the connections, though - like they should have been initially.

Ok, I lied - I didn't try either of these. I ended up just getting another Torx-10 screwdriver, taking the neck apart and then rerouted the wires slightly and moved the PCB forward. Worked like a charm. The guitar works perfectly again and the neck finally fits snugly on the rest of the guitar instead of swaying in the breeze.

Think there'll be anything besides Pearl Jam this week since it's been known for so long? Not that I need anything else, but I plan to be out drinking and watching basketball all day Friday and I don't want to miss something else. Wish they'd just put out the weekly announcement.

I'm totally bored.

My guess would be just PJ next week. But then again...what do I know.

They might put up a random single or two, as they occasionally do on album weeks, but I'm guessing they'll let Ten keep the spotlight all to itself.

Get twitter and add RockBandDLC. Then you'll get a text message on your phone whenever there's an announcement (if you opt for that). It's nice for me because I'm usually at graduation once a month and would miss the announcement right when it came out. The guy's pretty good about tweeting within minutes of the announcement.
