Buy 2, get 1 free at Target from October 29th to November 4th. Switch games excluded.

Nice. Remember that with Target you can buy three same-priced games and return two and still get 33% off the one you keep.

I don't own the system, so it doesn't affect me directly, but excluding all Switch games is total and utter bullshit.

Yeah, they exclude Nintendo every year. I thought Best Buy did too, but I could be wrong.

I might go all out and pick up the ultimate editions of Forza 7, Shadow of War, and AC Orgins. Then like you said, decide what to keep and just return the rest to use the 33% discount. With Black Friday a month from today, I'm sure there will be bigger discounts on the standard versions of most games soon enough.

That was definitely the case last year. Best Buy has had 3DS-specific B2G1F sales, so maybe there’ll be one for the Switch down the road.

Do you know if 3DS is included? I could use the new Metroid, Layton and the Mario & Luigi Superstar Saga remake.

I always forget about the 3DS. I could go for some Metroid and Pikmin.

Re: The Video Game Deals Thread

I'd kind of forgotten about it, too. I was surprised when I browsed through that section a week ago and say a few new(ish) games I'd missed.

Yes, 3DS games are shown in the ad

Diablo III: Ultimate Evil Edition is $14.99 at Amazon (PS4) & Gamestop (PS4 & XB1)

Re: The Video Game Deals Thread

I sort of expected that to be the case about Switch not being included in the Target sale. Kind of a bummer but whatever I guess. In a way the buy two get one deal isn’t the greatest anyways in my opinion. It always seems like there’s one or two games I really want and I’d end up buying a filler title.

fujishig 10-25-17 10:18 AM

Re: The Video Game Deals Thread

With Target, at least in the past, no filler is needed. My problem is not having the patience for Black Friday when most games are even cheaper anyway.

good BF deals at Kohl's for those that want to endure that nightmare (or have significant others that will)

Any idea I you can mix & match board and video games for the Target deal? I'd love go get a couple 3DS games and one board game.

Maxflier 10-28-17 05:23 PM

Re: The Video Game Deals Thread

According to a post on cag, the ad does state that board games are included and you can mix and match.

The Target sale is live and it's currently working on preorders too.

Re: The Video Game Deals Thread

When it was the same deal for Blu-rays, some chat agents allowed price matches. Don't know if that's changed or not.

Re: The Video Game Deals Thread

You can also place an order for three of the same item and cancel two right away. I did that for Shadow of War Gold Edition since it's already discounted on top of the sale, and my invoice is $52.09 for one copy now.

Decker 10-29-17 09:42 AM

Re: The Video Game Deals Thread

I just did that. I ended up with a weird final tally :

subtotal (1 item) $72.99
discounts -$24.33

buy 2 get 1 free: select board & video games

delivery free
tax $12.04
___________________
$60.70

I don't know how they're calculating tax, but whether it's based on $72.99 or $48.66, they shouldn't be collecting $12 in sales tax.

Edit : And they just cancelled it. I will try it again and see.

Re: The Video Game Deals Thread

I ended up placing several orders. Shadow of war gold for $52.09, Need for Speed Payback Deluxe Edition for $57.06, God of War and Red Dead redemption 2 for $42.80, Darksiders 3 for $34.58, Snipperclips for $21.39, and Far cry 5 gold for $71.36. Not sure if I will keep them all, but might as well lock them in for now.

EDIT: and Shadow of war just shipped, even cheaper than expected. $49.91. More than half off for a game that hasn't even been out a month yet.

Re: The Video Game Deals Thread

You lucky SOB. Mine shipped and came out to $57.89 with $4 tax. Oh well, still not a bad deal and at least it shipped. I went by a couple of Targets and neither had it in stock at all. Plenty of copies of the $110 Assassin's Creed Origins Gold Edition though! -screwy-

So you place the order with your card and immediately cancel the other two items? I tried before putting my card in and it would only let me remove all three.
