Well, I found a $10 Best Buy gift card in my car today. I have no clue why it was there or how I got it. And, I have $5 in RZ$. Sooooo, looks like I'll be hitting that sweetspot of pricing at $15 for AC2. Sweet!

I would actually read the stuff before clocking in, since I would show up early to chat with people before hitting the floor. However, no company should expect that kind of dedication from their employees. But I edited my post because the actual policy was to read after clocking in and before hitting the floor. Even though I didn't work for Best Buy, I assume most corporate stores work in a similar fashion.

I just returned a used copy of Oblivion GOTY to their store I bought online. Was not a problem at all. You just need to make sure you have the packing slip/reciept they send you with the game.

Re: The Video Game Deals Thread

2 of my 3 Gamestop buy 1 get 1 orders have shipped! Resident Evil Darkside Chronicles & New Super Mario Bros for $39.99+tax, and also SNK Arcade Classics, Dewys Adventure, My Word Coach, and Neopet Adventure for $19.98+tax total. I had a bunch of games in my cart, but decided to hold back, especially with the $49.99 titles (passed on Bioshock 2, Modern Warfare 2, L4D2, etc).

I got one order in -- New SMB Wii and Super Mario Galaxy for $39.99 + tax, to go along with my daughter's surprise birthday present of a Wii Bundle (with Wii Sports Resort from Walmart). Now she'll be set, as will I with the only two games I really have an interest in playing.

Re: The Video Game Deals Thread

So one of the K-marts near me is closing soon. They've been having 25 % off games. Not a great deal but I wanted to get the games i wanted and not have to come back every week. Shockingly they still had copies of Fear and Fear expansion pack (360) Picked it up for $23 each. Amazons prices are insane ($77!) Why does Amazon allow these prices to be listed? Is Fear really that rare of a game? Who the hell would pay that much for a 360 game???

Why would Amazon not allow those prices? If someone would pay it then awesome. If not then the seller just sits there with the merchandise.

I got two orders from the sale:

L4D2 and ODST for about 48 (traded L4D2 in for about that much credit 2 weeks ago )

Brutal Legend and Sonic Collection for about 16.

Had a big order of last gen stuff in my cart when the code stopped working

Re: The Video Game Deals Thread

I get an e-mail newsletter from Gamestop every week. In the one I got today, they were saying the following:

Coming up on March 26: Hot New Games up to 50% off.

GameStop Game Days Sale. Once a Year.

Did they do this last year and is it worth it?

I think they have done this about 3 times in the last 2 years. You will find no more than a few games that are worth getting generally speaking.

Yep, the only good thing is usually a B2G1 Used deal usually accompanies it.

I've been holding onto some credit for a few months now in hopes of a B2G1. Perfect timing if I'm able to find a store with GoW3.

The first job I ever had was at Best Buy. I used to work the phones at customer service and was always getting calls about holding games to be picked up later.

The store policy at the time (and to date how long ago this was, the games were N64) was I could put stuff aside until 4pm and if they couldn't get picked up by then, they'd go back out on the floor.

But before I started my shift I went through the games/DVD's checking to see how much stuff we had in stock that day of all the items I knew I'd get calls on so if nothing else I could tell them not to worry bout holding it we had plenty in.

LOL because every mother was calling for a freaking Turok64!

4pm? What kind of policy is that? Typically someone calling to have something held is doing so because they are at work and can't get there until after 5.

Re: The Video Game Deals Thread

Do you guys know that you can get the NERF N-Strike Elite with Switch Shot EX-3 Blaster - Nintendo Wii at Best Buy for free?

http://www.bestbuy.com/site/NERF+N-S...&ref=39&loc=01

It's on sale at $19.99 and there is a coupon on the Gamer Rewards Zone for $20 off. I went there and got 3 copies of the game for free without any problem.

Unfortunately, the folks over at CAG are reporting that the deal is dead now:

Of course it is. I read somewhere that some people were getting multiple copies for free!

I tried this a month or two ago for a free copy of Fairytale Fights, but by the time I got there the deal was dead.

Re: The Video Game Deals Thread

I don't understand why they repeatedly offer games that will be free after RewardZone coupons, then freak out and don't honor the deal. Sure, the coupon says that it can't be used on sale prices, but why time the coupon to overlap with a sale like that?

Re: The Video Game Deals Thread

Because it gets people talking about Best Buy, searching for their ads and watching their website. They clear out some product that wasn't selling and in return get free publicity.
