Downloaded this yesterday. I'm sure it'll drop lower before I get around to playing it, but I can now cross it off my 'to buy' list.

Amazon has a ton of games on sale now. Nearly picked up Dark Souls and Arkham City, each for $5, as well, but I'll pass for now.

Reaaaally tempted to do the Bundle Quest on GOG.com and get all the Kings Quests and Quest for Glory games for $11.95. Maybe even the 2 Space Quest packs for $2.49 each.

I just bought Kings Quests 1-6 and both Space Quests packs for around 12.50. I haven't played these in a long time. I beat the first 4 KQ games and the first 3 Space Quest games as they came out long ago on a Tandy 1000. Oh the baby!

So tempted to buy the Police Quest pack (and the other Quest packs), but I know I'll never really play them. I'm not sure how anyone has the time to play all these old games as well as new games.

I had this exact same thought but then nostalgia took over. I fired up KQ3 first.

Yeah, this is what's giving me hesitation. I feel like i'm buying them just to have them, not to play them.

The sad thing is, even with GOG Galaxy, if these deals were on Steam, I probably would of bought them.

 I think I could understand this is they were strictly multiplayer games, but for games like this why would you choose Steam over GOG?

I don't know about flashburn, but a lot of folks like all (if not most) of their games in one place.

Yeah, it's just easier having everything all-in-one. The individual Platforms are software equivalent of consoles, it's easier to have everything all on one.

Yeah, why wouldn't you buy it on Steam instead?

Oh noes! DRM! ;)

Yep, that's all that matters. I just like having it all in one place. I still buy games on Origin (and occasionally UPlay if it's cheap) but I try my best not to. I don't really have any games from GOG except for a few free ones.

I guess some people would care about potential achievements, but I doubt most of those old games have achievements added on to them anyway. I don't give a shit about them though.

It's also a lot easier to purchase something on Steam for me, since I already have a payment method hooked up to them, not to mention I'd have to remember my login info for GOG.

Re: The Video Game Deals Thread

I've never really cared about achievements, or worried about DRM, I mainly buy wherever it's cheapest. I think I have about an equal number of games on Steam and GOG. All things being equal I guess I prefer GOG because of the DRM stuff and seemingly better extras.

Just think of it as having all your digital comics in one place :)

You should have highlighted the 'I guess' !

But yeah, I guess I prefer no DRM a little bit. It's not so much having to be online or sharing information with Steam, that doesn't matter to me much. But I just feel much more confident of my games from GOG always working. Just in case I want games on my non connected PCs or one of those companies goes under (like Desura apparently).

Music 06-05-15 07:11 PM

Re: The Video Game Deals Thread

Desura went under? oh well...

I had a few games thru them, but only because they were part of a bundle of Steam games

Well, I got a buck or two worth so far as I have already played through Space Quest 1. On to the next!

He said he goes with whoever is cheapest, but all things being equal (i.e. the price is the same), he'll take the one without DRM. So he doesn't care about DRM if the price is better.

Coupon code is C15FATHERSDAY

Good through June 9

Coupon is only good for "Home & Garden, Sporting Goods, and Tech categories." Tech seems to include games and game systems. I just used it on a $100+ game purchase.

Twenty-five bucks for free. Here's what I did.

Added two of these to cart.

Added one of these to cart.

Applied promotion code C15FATHERSDAY

Checked out with paypal.

The transaction also earned $2.10 in eBay bucks. You could also use the deal for 12 month cards, minimum purchase of three.
That might seem a little convoluted. In any case, I just used it to get $100 of PSN credit at Best Buy for $85. The Steam credit might be useful for those planning on stocking up in the upcoming Steam Sale
