See...I stayed so far away from Target yesterday, it wasn't even funny. I knew...given the chance of a cheaper XBone or PS4 (or even a remaining Ouya), I would go in and buy it. I promptly went home after work, fired up my 360, and started a X-Com game from scratch. I still have so much to play, and re-play. (Xcom, Skyrim, looking at you)

Haha, I really wish that worked with me. Ever since I started keeping track of the games I bought through that iPad app (Congrats LEGO Batman that came free with the Vita, you were lucky number 300!) it has been depressing seeing all the games that I realize that I'm never going to finish. And that's not even counting the games bought through XLA or all the free games through PS+.

On the bright side, I'm never going to have to buy my kids games though once they are old enough to start playing

Enter the code TREAT4U (new rakuten.com customers only) to save $13 on a few Xbox One games. That brings the prices down to...

Call of Duty: Ghosts - $5.99 (!!!)
Assassins Creed IV: Black Flag - $9.99
Madden 25 - $9.99
Battlefield 4 - $14.99

Some nice deals there, but since I'm not a new Rakuten (that is SO much easier to remember than buy.com) member, I probably wouldn't qualify. Truth be told, the Xbone will probably just be a Fifa machine for me since that is what my club mates will end up on. I can't convince them to get PS4, they are afraid of change.
I do want to check out Ryse too, but I can wait for that one to get dirt cheap.

Rakuten is a huge brand in Japan, after they bought Buy.com they wanted to expand the brand name to the rest of the world. It is horrible, wtf is a Rakuten.

I stopped by the post office and their coupon pack had 10% at Best Buy, not Target. I took that as a sign to wait on my One.

That makes me feel better knowing that. Thinking I was missing out on saving another $40 was really bothering me much more than it should.

If you have a Micro Center near by, Infamous SS LE is on sale for $19.99. I just checked our location and they have 5 in stock, so I'm thinking about picking it back up to run through the evil campaign. I thought the game was fun to play, and very pretty to look at too.

Best Buy has the 1-yr Playstation Plus card for $39.99 this week. Are these cards ever cheaper than that?

Yes, but not often. They were 35 on Black Friday last year.

I picked one up too, but I guess I forgot how good the deal was.

Weren't they half-price at $25 at GameStop on Black Friday? I feel like they were but now I can't remember. Whatever the price was, it was a no-brainer.

They were $30 everywhere.

Gooter 07-18-14 11:57 AM

Re: The Video Game Deals Thread

Yep, what Corvin said. I think Gamestop was the first to post the deal but Best Buy and Amazon followed, probably others I can't remember now.

And yes, it was a no brainer to get them at that price. I probably should have bought more but figured 5 years was pretty darn good.

Well didn't work for me. Probably partially my fault since I didn't go to the store that I bought it at, but I didn't think it would matter. She said I could return it and rebuy it, but I would lose the cartwheel discount. So I just returned it. I'm sure there will be better discounts/bundles closer to the holidays anyways.

But I have been playing the Vita a lot since getting my 32GB memory card from NewEgg. Thanks to PS+, the memory card is already full and I won't have to buy any games for quite some time.

Not as good as the triple offer last month, but Target will be running a double trade in value from July 20th through the 26th. I'm hoping to get through Watch Dogs by then and get back what I paid for it.

Thought I would bump this since it's going on now. I was able to get $40 for Watch Dogs today.

This is probably some kind of error on Best Buys part but what an great deal:

$303 trade in credit for used 360 4gb model

Of course Cheap Ass Gamer is gonna abuse the shit out of this so this deal will probably be gone by the days end.

some people up in Canada were able to get an Xbox One + game for $50 a few days ago. BB honored the price for several people before it was pulled.
