Amazon usually does match this promotion, but only with a limited number of games.

It is usually with only one or two titles that I truly want leaving me to fill that 3rd spot with a title that really isn't in my interest.

The GCU promotion is extending all the way to the week of 11/9-11-16 so if you don't want anything this week or next, you could wait and pick up Assassin's Creed Unity, Halo MCC or a $39.99 3DS game in the Buy one, get one half off promotion and then get in on the GCU 2 year for $30 deal then.

Re: The Video Game Deals Thread

The COD Ghosts Prestige edition for Xbox One dropped down to $44.99 at Amazon.com. Just ordered this. Will trade in my copy of the game and get to Best Buy today to pre-order COD Advanced Warfare for the extra $10. Should be a good deal once I purchase the game with GCU.

Re: The Video Game Deals Thread

Oh, I just re-read the trade-in offer for the COD games at Best Buy. It says 'Trade in values valid 10/19/14–11/1/14' Does this mean I should trade the game now (before 11/1)? Or you can only trade in for any game until 11/1? Thanks for clarifying.

Re: The Video Game Deals Thread

Nope. Gotta trade in Call of Duty Ghosts by 11/1 to get this TIV. I imagine it'll drop like a stone after that because they probably got a shit-ton of copies with this promotion.

As I said before, you get the $20 (or $22 with GCU) as a gift card when you trade in Ghosts (next gen) this week. You don't have to use it to buy CoD AW. But you also get a $10 off CoD AW coupon with the trade-in that's only valid with CoD AW and only for the first week.

I have hope though, since two of the ones I want to get are actually pictured

The ad also shows the regular price of GCU as being $99.99. I've been thinking about picking this up, but I have a friend willing to order anything for me, I'll probably do it if they have a half off for $50 close to when his is going to expire.

I went to BB site and all i see for GCU price is "$119.99 FOR 2-YEAR MEMBERSHIP"

How do you get $30 2 year deal?

it is in the ad. buy a game $39.99 or more and bring the GCU card to register. you will get it for $30 instead of the $119.99 price. everything is explained in the ad if you looked there.

Just a thought if those are the three games you want:

All three net a $10 Reward Zone certificate with Best Buy pre-order. Figure GCU discount of 20% and the difference is instead of paying $120 + tax for all three games, at Best Buy with GCU and pre-ordering, you'd pay $144 + tax, get $30 in RZ certificates, get 288 My Best Buy points (over $5 credit), get the Day Zero edition of CoD AW with bonus DLC, get the Grunt Funeral Skull DLC and Map book for Halo MCC and get DLC "Over Under Pistol" for Assassin's Creed Unity.

Can you do this? The return value is 40$?

And this sale is coming a week too early.

That's exactly right. Each game bought at Target is given a return value of 66.67% of the MSRP. If you bought a third $60 game you didn't want, you could return it for 2/3 of its MSRP. You'd end up with two games at $40 instead of having to buy three, but the flip side is you CAN'T return that third game and even-exchange it for another full game that comes out later -- you'd only get $40 credit for the exchange.

Re: The Video Game Deals Thread

How do BB pre-orders work? They will hold in store or ship the game(to receive) by release date? Also, does any $ down go towards the purchase price. I know at Target the $1 pre-order card doesn't go towards anything, they just give you a 5$ gift card.

In store, you put $5 towards reserving the game. When it is released, you take your receipt to the CS counter and pick up your game. Online, you can either choose to have it shipped to you or pick up in store. No idea if it is shipped by release date as I pick everything up in store. Any money you put toward the game is deducted off the purchase amount .

For anyone interested in Best Buy's Gamers Club Unlocked there's a great deal. Buy any prepaid phone and get the membership free. I bought the cheapest $14.99 phone and got the Unlocked free. You don't even have to activate the phone.

Saw it on slickdeals and tried it. It worked no problem, bought a $14.99 AT&T phone.

That's assuming you return it with the receipt. They'll trade an unopened item for store credit or another item of equal value without a receipt no problem. Anyone will really, you wouldn't even need to do the GTA swap at Target for that matter.

Re: The Video Game Deals Thread

States that it requires activation on the coupon. Has anyone stated that they have done this deal yet and also been able to use the Gamers Club then without the activation?
