Re: The Video Game Deals Thread

So much for Best Buy's Mario Kart 8 promo. Total. Fucking. Bust. I've went to three gas stations today to try and redeem that $10 gas card (it's a virtual card, printed out, requires a manual input of the Mastercard and security numbers) and none took it.

Thornton's: the old drone behind the counter wouldn't even entertain the idea of taking it. Didn't read it, wouldn't listen to reason. I bought some drinks as my first transaction before trying the gas card so I asked for a refund. She didn't like that. Bitch. Learn some customer service or get another job. A shame too, I generally go to this gas station for all my business. I'll have to reconsider.

Speedway: two drones incapable of thinking for themselves, an older lady and a young guy. It was essentially, 'I don't know how to do this since there's nothing to scan' and 'I don't want to get in trouble so, no.' I grabbed drinks here too, so just left them on the counter. Lazy fuckers.

At this point I'm losing faith in people's ability to provide decent customer service, then I hit:

Marathon: The lady didn't know how to 'scan' either since it's manual input but a manager was close so he came over to help. He read the print out and said he'd seen promos like this before so he was willing to help out. He at least tried a couple times with no luck. He told me to try Wal-Mart. It sounded like he had experience with their computers and said it might work there. He was very nice and helpful despite the outcome so he got my soda business.

Anyone have any luck with this damn thing?

You can actually use it anywhere that takes credit cards, not just gas stations. I used it at a movie theater, and the guy seemed a bit confused at first, but he was able to redeem it without much trouble. Then I just paid the balance with cash.

Out of that entire list we have Shells & BPs. So Louisville apparently gets the shitty $4/gallon gas.

I have a redbox code for a free game rental; expires tonight. I'm working and won't have time for it, email me if you'll use it.

Edit to add: Gone.

Save yourself a lot of headaches and just buy yourself a $10 Amazon gift card with it. Amazon accepts it as a debit card, and buying a gift card makes sure you get to use the entire $10 without going over (which I THINK will cause it to fail).

Yeah, I received an email about that yesterday, but there's nothing all that pressing. Here's what's included:

Spoiler:

Increased trade values towards the system, $20 off a 12-month Live card with purchase of the system, a few $40 games, etc.

Huge sale over at Irrational right now. Looks like they still have 360 copies of Bioshock Infinite premium for $20 and the songbird edition for $37.50

https://store.irrationalgames.com/Ca...x?c=SummerSale

EDIT: if at first is shows sold out, refresh every once in awhile. They seem to be going in and out of stock.

Starting on Sunday at Best Buy, Killzone will be $19.99 ($15.99 unlocked). I think I may bite at that price.

I ended up grabbing this yesterday. Figured for $15.99 (unlocked) it would be worth checking out.

Re: The Video Game Deals Thread

Not as good as the triple offer last month, but Target will be running a double offer for trade ins from July 20th through the 26th. I'm hoping to get through Watch Dogs by then and get back what I paid for it.

They will also have a $50 gift card with purchase of the $399 Xbox One.
