Re: The Video Game Deals Thread
I stole the redesigned iPod earbuds from my daughters iPod touch 5. For earbuds they are comfy as hell. i cant go back to the old ones. I'd be perfectly fine if the PS4's were similarly designed but I'm pretty sure Apple patented that. I wish the iPhone came with them. A couple extra(with a mic) would be handy.

Re: The Video Game Deals Thread
Toys R Us is currently running a sale on video games $14.99-19.99, buy 3 for $30.00. Online sale listing shows select items, but the in store signage indicates all games $14.99-19.99 were 3 for $30.00.
Shipping & handling kills the online sale so I decided to try in store. I was able to pick up Portal 2 (360), Kinectimals w/Bears (360), and Need for Speed Most Wanted (Vita) for $30.00+tax. |

You are aware that the iPhone is a phone, right? ;)
Is there a mic built in somewhere on the earbuds?? |

Yes, but you are talking about using the ear buds with the PS4 controller...
Is there a mic built in somewhere on the earbuds?? The plug for iPhone earbuds is a standard 3.5mm 4-conductor TRRS, and every picture I can find of the set that comes with the PS4 is the same connector. Should work, but inline audio controls may or may not depending on whether Sony used the Apple standard or the older Nokia standard. Any smartphone headset should work as long as it has a 3.5mm TRRS, and most phones now use the Apple standard, so I'd bet that Sony did too. Edit for compatibility clarification from wiki: 3.5 mm TRRS (stereo-plus-mic) sockets are particularly common on recent smartphones, and have been used e.g. by Nokia since 2006; this is often compatible with standard 3.5 mm stereo headphones. 2 different forms are frequently found, both of which place left audio on the tip and right audio on the first ring (mirroring the configuration found on stereo connectors). Where they differ is in the placement of the microphone and return contacts. The first, which places the return signal on the second ring and the microphone on the sleeve, is used by Apple's iPhone line, HTC devices, latest Samsung, Nokia and Sony phones, among others. The second, which reverses these contacts, is used by older Nokia mobiles, Samsung smartphones and some Sony Ericsson phones.[13] Some computers now include a TRRS headset socket, compatible with headsets intended for smartphones. One such pin assignment, with ground on the sleeve, is standardized in OMTP[14] and has been accepted as a national Chinese standard YDT 1885-2009. |

Don't need the weekly deals page anymore, it's $19.99 on the regular item page.

Re: The Video Game Deals Thread
Yeah, $9.99 was my price point as well. I price matched at Target just so I could have the extra return time just in case they announce a gold edition with all of the DLC included.

Re: The Video Game Deals Thread
Posted in the PS3 thread too, but this is a pretty awesome deal for the PS3 GTAV bundle.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-PS3-500G...469840?afsrc=1 http://kotaku.com/moneysaver-one-sho...3-f-1377504578 Can probably sell GTAV if you're not interested and end up with a PS3 under $200. |
Re: The Video Game Deals Thread
NewEgg has a 10% off coupon, SAVE10SEP25Z. It has a $20 off cap, so you can't go completely nuts with it unfortunately. And it's not good on preorders. But there is some decent deals to be had:
Gears of War: Judgment for $17.99 Bioshock Infinite for $17.99 Aliens: Colonial Marines Collector Edition for $17.99 The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker HD Wii U Deluxe Set for $279.99 |

I'm sad I missed out on that PS3 deal, hopefully the holidays bring more like that.
