Re: iPhone/iPod Touch App Talk
does anyone here use the MFI controllers? if so, which one and what are your thoughts?
I have thought about the Moga Ace Power and the Steelseries Stratus. However there is something holding me back with each With regards to the Moga -- I will have to remove my otterbox each time I want to use the controller which will stretch it I fear, but I can't stand the thought of going without a case because I tend to drop my phones from time to time. with regards to the Stratus which is bluetooth -- it should work fine with my iphone 5s, however it isn't compatible with the iPad 3 which shocks me quite honestly. thanks |
Re: iPhone/iPod Touch App Talk
I may have asked this in the past, I don't remember : Why does Apple have a Best-Seller list for Top Grossing games? That must just mean tons of micro transactions. To me that's just confirmation that this is a free game that I don't want to play under any circumstances. Who does that appeal to?

What are you, some kind of communist? |
Re: iPhone/iPod Touch App Talk
I think a more useful thing for consumers would be to drop the "Top Grossing" column and split the free section into two...free apps with in-app purchases and free apps without.

Re: iPhone/iPod Touch App Talk
Star Wars Commander released today... I believe it's a throwback to the PC game some years back.
https://movies.yahoo.com/news/star-w...130059719.html Hopefully this game is supported better than Tiny Death Star. |
Re: iPhone/iPod Touch App Talk
Kick ass! Hopefully it is good. I loved Empire at War and Force Commander back in the day.

Re: iPhone/iPod Touch App Talk
I read on Touch Arcade that Bioshock will be on the App Store tonight. Freaking unreal that this will be on a phone. I have seen some of the screenshots and it looks great

Re: iPhone/iPod Touch App Talk
IGN's free game of the month, the normally $5 and highly rated puzzler Hitman Go.

Re: iPhone/iPod Touch App Talk
Wow. I bought it for $5 before a trip earlier this Summer.
It's a pretty great game. A very cool virtual board game. |
Re: iPhone/iPod Touch App Talk
Anyone playing Mistwalker's new game, Terra Battle? Free to play strategy game, with a pretty unique tiered "reward" structure based on number of downloads. At 100k downloads, you got new music from Nobuo Uematsu, at 200,000 new characters designed by Hideo Minaba, at 300k new characters from Nakaba Suzuki, etc. They're currently at 650k downloads
http://www.terra-battle.com/en/downloadstarter/ In any case, the game seems pretty good, though I'm a sucker for Japanese designs and strategy games. Still in early levels, and there is the common F2P conceit of making each match use time-refillable energy, but so far I haven't found the need to buy anything. It's obvious that the stages become more and more "expensive" and eventually you'll probably only get to play a couple of stages at a time, but in the age of candy crush and Puzzle & Dragons, I guess that's to be expected. Also, Reddit just bought the top ios reddit client, Alien Blue. They came out with a new app, but the upgrade to pro is free for a week (since old pro users have to download the app and upgrade, presumably). Not sure how many use reddit (I don't that much, but the app is decent). |
Re: iPhone/iPod Touch App Talk
A few good freebies today; Boom Brigade 1&2 and Great Big Wargame series.

Re: iPhone/iPod Touch App Talk
The highly-rated game Badland has some free IAP today.

I am a mark for Mistwalker, so I need to dive in full at some point. But what I'm REALLY hooked on right now is Swords & Poker Adventures. https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/swor...808589838?mt=8 It's an RPG with a Poker battle system. http://a1.mzstatic.com/us/r30/Purple...en480x480.jpeg This is my daily grind right now. It's so good. The only problem is the F2P hooks aren't as well developed as some other F2P games I've played. They've fixed it A LOT since launch, but the premium currency is still exceptionally rare in-game. Although its primary use is to buy "cheater" weapons, so maybe it's not as awful as I'm thinking. It also has a Facebook link thing, but it doesn't post anything, it just uses it for a friend list (why they didn't use Game Center is beyond me). I finally convinced a few friends to play it, and it's nice to get an extra set of energy and some emergency cards every day. |
Re: iPhone/iPod Touch App Talk
Sales are starting, woo.
PS: I just bought an iPad Mini a couple of week ago, so I've been waiting to fill it up. I grabbed the Neuroshima Hex Bundle DLC for $3.99 and Kingdom Rush HD for 99¢. Tempted to get Dragon Quest IV ($9.99), but it hasn't been too long since I played it on DS. Readying my purchase button for Silverfish MAX, Inferno 2 and The World Ends With You for the most part. And if Swords & Poker gems or Terra Battle energy gets a sale, I'll drop a $5 or $10 on them. |
Re: iPhone/iPod Touch App Talk
I have been playing the absolute crap out of both Galaxy Trucker and Sentinels of the Multiverse.
SotM is a fantastic co-op game that plays really well single player. GT is a real time board game that I didn't think would be possible to convert to iOS in a way that was still fun. I was wrong. Oh so wrong. The newly created campaign is great. |
Re: iPhone/iPod Touch App Talk
I've been playing and really enjoying Etherlords. Very addicting.

Re: iPhone/iPod Touch App Talk
As the game description puts it, part monster battler, part turn-based strategy game.

Re: iPhone/iPod Touch App Talk
I just picked up Swords and poker adventure yesterday. its pretty fun. a lot like S&P 1 and 2 but with just F2P stuff you have to ignore

Re: iPhone/iPod Touch App Talk
