Re: iPhone/iPod Touch App Talk
I really liked Swords and Poker though I never sprung for the full games. Might have to check this out.

Peggle Blast just came out. It's exactly Candy Crush but with Peggle.

Re: iPhone/iPod Touch App Talk
Also the map, the lives, the facebook integration asking friends to help unlock the next chapter, the boosts, the stars, the forced pace.
|
Re: iPhone/iPod Touch App Talk
Map progression, limited lives (wait for replenish, ask friends, pay), power ups, micro transactions = like Candy Crush.

You only need the left one to roll down the ramp into the bucket. It will pop the one above where you catch it.
i was thinking the candy crush similarities would be in game play, but i see what you mean now. way more annoying that the peggle you had to buy. Sword and Poker Adventure is a lot easier once you get that healing power |
Re: iPhone/iPod Touch App Talk
The difficulty/luck factor really ramps up in the 3rd chapter. I know they call it a "puzzler" so there must be a proper way to beat every level, but they aren't always obvious. Many times have I met the peg requirement only to fail the score requirement to even get a single star, let alone all three.

I haven't played Swords and Poker Adventure, but it seems like they just tacked on F2P mechanics to the original Swords and Poker and Swords and Poker 2 (both of which were purchasable, not F2P games, and fantastic). Have you played those?
The F2P stuff is pretty ignorable besides using energy to play, which doesn't bother me as I can play my rounds and come back to it later or the next day without issue. Gems are used to buy cheater weapons (maybe not the best word, but they're basically weapons with extra power for the area you're in). Gems are also used for revives or refills. I haven't needed to use any gems and I'm nearing the third world end boss. If you liked the previous games, it's worth checking out.

I just picked up Swords and poker adventure yesterday. its pretty fun. a lot like S&P 1 and 2 but with just F2P stuff you have to ignore
https://www.facebook.com/lcapasso79 I try to send my bonuses to my friend list once a day, so if you're just starting it'll be a nice boost.

I gleefully pilfered the RTTY... code.

Took the third code. Thanks!

Sentinels of the Multiverse updated and added some unlockable (via gameplay for free) promo cards. Still one of my faves right now.

I'm stuck on level 59. The closest i've gotten is like 23 or 24 out of 25 pegs. |
Re: iPhone/iPod Touch App Talk
Don't bother. I made it to 60 and it's a joke.
It's another battle, but you have to get through 4 levels before facing Fnord. The first isn't terrible, but the second just relies on pure luck and green peg placement. I have never come close due to the bombs, suns, and goop. |
Re: iPhone/iPod Touch App Talk
So its exactly like Candy Crush. I played CC until i got stuck on a really difficult level that took a million tries to pass. when i finally passed it, there was another level with the same goal. I just quit at that point

You're not doing it right, you're supposed to pay your way past them... :)

Also, I'm sure I'm late to this party, but Monument Valley is the best mobile game I've ever played. |

Anyone want VVVVVV? After ignoring it on my Steam cloud for years, I get to ignore it on my iPad!

I hope all this second-hand caffeine doesn't keep me up all night. I grabbed the first code. Thank you.

Re: iPhone/iPod Touch App Talk
A lurker took the third code. I hope they get coal for Christmas.
I grabbed the second. Thanks Decker! |
Re: iPhone/iPod Touch App Talk
Kingdom Rush Frontiers is the free IGN game of the month, although their code generator seems to be on the blitz. I got through on the iPad version after a few tries, but gave up on the iPhone version.

http://www.ign.com/articles/2014/12/...rush-frontiers Thanks for posting--the original is pretty great, though I don't do well on the hard levels. |
