But what does the list of Top Grossers tell you? Who sells the most IAPs? Is it a good thing or a bad thing if you see a game you want or like on that list? I have no idea.

Re: iPhone/iPod Touch App Talk
Yeah, definitely more for developers than for consumers. Early on, I'll bet it was used to illustrate that $1 games could make more money than $5 games, but now it's probably used more to show IAP models that milk people in the most effective ways.

Re: iPhone/iPod Touch App Talk
we got an iPad 3 a few months ago and i have been enjoying it so far. I mainly use it to play games right now and for my toddler to play his learning apps. i am a bit overwhelmed by the app store. There are soooooo many games it blows my mind. There are alot of games I didn't even know about. My friend had a new Contra game that I had no clue about and I happened to see an old NES favorite Spy vs Spy during one of my searches. I often wonder just how many games I miss that are on there. I tend to just look around at the games right in front of me in those featured lists. how do you guys manage to find things?

Re: iPhone/iPod Touch App Talk
I follow the freebies thread over at Touch Arcade. I get more games for free than I'd EVER have time to play:

Download any of the multiple hundreds of apps for tracking app sales. I use TouchArcade and AppShopper. They are both fairly easy to use, you can search by genre and price; and save apps to a watch list for future sales or updates. |

Re: iPhone/iPod Touch App Talk
Riptide GP is free this weekend only.
It's a very nice-looking water racer with decent water physics. Sort of similar to the Hydro Thunder game on XBLA. Nice effects. I'm not a huge fan of iPad racers, but this one is well worth the free purchase. |

Bumping this mainly for the inevitable multiple great Black Friday deals. One current deal that most of us may have gotten in the past is that Infinity Blade is currently free.

Re: iPhone/iPod Touch App Talk
Before GTAV took us to the sun-bleached sidewalks and humming concrete freeways of present-day Los Santos and beyond, there was Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, the biggest GTA of the PS2 era. Now, head back to the early 90s with CJ and the Grove Street Families when Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas comes to mobile devices next month. Encompassing Los Santos, San Fierro, Las Venturas and everything in between, Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas has been upgraded for its mobile release. Newly remastered graphics including dynamic and detailed shadows, greater draw distance, an enriched color palette, plus enhanced character and car models make this the best-looking version of San Andreas yet. Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas also features brand new touch controls including contextual control options to display buttons only when you need them and three different control schemes for driving and maneuvering, as well as a reworked checkpoint system for easier progression. Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas for mobile also comes equipped with full controller support, including Made for iOS controller capability on iOS7. It will be available for select iOS, Android, Amazon Kindle and Windows Mobile devices. Stay tuned for more details in the weeks ahead. |

Re: iPhone/iPod Touch App Talk
Mikey Shorts just went free for what may be the first time; it's a highly rated platformer runner type game.
Dark Nebula 2 is free as well. Haven't tried it yet but I vaguely remember loving the first. |

i downloaded it, played for 15 minutes and that is it. I don't see what all the fuss is about. I probably won't play it again |
Re: iPhone/iPod Touch App Talk
well World of Goo was clever for it's time. Is it 3-4 years old now?
