How do you get the chickens and pigs? I know that if you collect X of grain, trees, whatever, then a chicken or pig will appear but I can never get 3 of them to line up. Do you have to use the tools to gather them? E.g. pig wheelbarrow, chicken crate? I've used those a couple of times but then I seem to never have enough to actually collect 1 resource (e.g. collect 8 pigs = 1 pig resource).

Do resources you collect during farming/mining carry over to the next time you farm/mine or only if you choose and pay for that option at the end?

Thanks

Workers. Workers are the best thing ever. Resources you collect but don't get enough of to finish a unit will carry over. The option to carry over resources for gold is with regards to the uncollected resources.

I bought this on Monday and have been playing a ton. I'm up to lvl. 13 and upgraded to a Village. I put in 2 solid hours straight last night and finally ran out of coins. That was the first time. I'm already back up to about 600 though. I doubt I'll run out again. It's probably one of the more generous "freemium" games I've played. They give you a decent amount when you level plus the 40+ in taxes is plenty to keep you going.

Speaking of, I was kinda bummed that taxes aren't based on number of workers though, but based on your towns designation instead.

I've been checking my phone every couple of hours though to claim my taxes and items that pop up. I should have quite a stash by the time I get to sit down and play it again.

You can also sell any excess goods for money. I do it all the time with bread and wood. Bread really isn't worth using, since it only gives you 1 turn in the mine per unit.

Ah, thanks for that. Do you try to max all the workers or only certain ones? What is the max you can pay down for a worker?

I pretty much max all the workers. Starting with the field ones at first, and slowly add the miners. I don't remember exactly the lowest you can go, I think it depends on the resource, but some of them get to 5 of a resource gets a unit (wheat to bread) and match 3 at a time gets one of the next highest resources to drop. I often start with using some tools to get a full field of wheat, and that turns into like 9 or so carrots, and so on.

I opened a recruiting center, now what do I do with my generic worker I hired?

Might want to hold off on Puzzle Craft for a while, there's a game breaking bug that wipes your save. Patching coming soon:

I read on touch arcade they are going to be giving everyone 5000 coins with the patch to try to make amends.

Yeah, I mentioned that earlier in this thread. I haven't opened up my game in a week because of it.

Are you asking where to assign him, or how to do it?

For the former, I'd start with wheat, carrots, pigs, etc. For the latter, there is a button on the bottom of the screen, I forget what it's called, maybe "Workers"?.

How to do it. I hired him but nothing appears clickable to make him do anything.

I don't use iCloud so I'm forging ahead. Also from Googling it appears the update has already been submitted to Apple. It's just awaiting approval on their end.

You click on the worker picture on the bottom of the screen and then you pick the job to assign him to,you can have I think it's 5 people per job.

I must be an idiot because I cannot figure out how to assign them.

I just figured it out myself. :D

Tap on the 'workers' button at the bottom -> scroll down to 'worker for hire' -> tap 'hire' -> you now have added 1 worker to your pool. Now you have to go back to the workers button and assign job duty/worker like before. Basically you are paying twice to add a worker, once to hire and then again to assign a job duty.

I still don't get it. I have 3 of them but what do I click?

Re: iPhone/iPod Touch App Talk

You must have assigned them already. The #3 next to the 'hire' button for 'worker for hire' means you have hired a total of 3 workers. If they were unassigned, then the avail workers icon at the very top of the screen would also show a #3.

Or, the game is bugged if you didn't assign them or if they didn't become available to assign.

flashburn 08-31-12 07:53 AM

Re: iPhone/iPod Touch App Talk

The 3 is just to show the total number of workers you've hired directly. You can also get workers from building houses.

Re: iPhone/iPod Touch App Talk

I never assigned anything. Odd.

Re: iPhone/iPod Touch App Talk

They just go into to the worker pool like the ones you get from houses and stuff. They're basically ingredients for the jobs like the prospector in the picture you posted. The 3 isn't the number you have, it's the number you've bought. They would've got used when you made the reaper or poultry-man or any other one.

Speaking of wipes, Kingdoms of Camelot borked my game yesterday, starting the new-game tutorial when I tried to play. Even better, I kept getting notifications that my original city was being attacked, but of course there was nothing I could do about it. They fixed it by evening.

I have a dumb puzzle craft question ... when I'm farming, I have SO many tools, that they don't fit across the top of the screen. There are arrow buttons on either side up there, that you'd THINK would allow you to scroll through the tools. But they don't. I tried swiping up there too. Nothing happens. No idea how I'm supposed to use the tools that are off screen. :(

Tap the arrows.

Ahhh... finally, I get it. Instead of having to buy houses to gain 3+ new workers at a time, you just hire 1 at a time w/o buying the house.

Sometimes it glitches and doesn't scroll. Normally I just finish that "map" and when I go back in it will scroll again. It is just a weird oddity I have come across.

Those who grabbed the Atari Greatest Hits app a few weeks back, you need to update today to keep all the games for free. Don't know if they got rid of the "Delete the app and you lose everything" caveat, but it looks like they've changed how the app works, so I recommend either way that you update today.

Update is live. Get your $5k and get your Puzzle Crafting on.

They tweaked the items on the map screen. Everything seems to run a tad faster.

Okay, I didn't have a single issue with it, but since the update it's already happened once. I just used a different item (rake) and the next time I went into tools it worked fine.

Looking at the reviews, the Puzzle Craft update causes more problems than it solves.
